Use the adjectives

Adjectives are words that describe the qualities or states of being of

nouns.
They can also describe the quantity of nouns.
Position of adjectives
1. Adjectives usually go before the nouns they modify:
Example:

She is a good doctor. (Here the adjective good modifies the noun girl
and goes before it)
He is an intelligent medical student.
That was a clever idea.
2. When two or more adjectives come before a noun,
they are usually separated by commas.

Example:

An expensive, large stethoscope

A short, fair, pretty surgeon girl

Note that we do not put a comma after the last adjective in the series.

A short, fair, pretty , surgeon girl

3. When the last two are adjectives of color, they
are usually separated by and.

A black and white uniform (NOT black white uniform).

Gray and blue needles.
Pink and Green socks.
4. When two or more adjectives come in the predicative
position, we use and between the last two

The emergency room was cold and dirty.

The endocrinologist was handsome, smart and polite.
The cottons looked white and fluffy.
5. Sometimes we put an adjective after the
noun for the sake of emphasis.
Example:

There lived a doctor strong and (More emphatic than: There lived a strong
wicked. and wicked doctor)
6. In phrases such as those given below, the
adjective always comes after the noun.
Time-immemorial
Heir-apparent
God Almighty
President elect
