CJ 2G Improvement Plan
Voice Quality Improvement AMR FR/ HR threshold resetting Improve Voice Clarity
Recommendation:
CRH : 6
CRH is additional margin between LAC cells that have different LAC. The value is varies between 3-7, some cells have value 7, but
the value will be unnecessary if the cells are not in LAC border area.
CBQ : HIGH
Cell Bar Qualify.
MAXRET : 2
Defines maximum number of retransmissions an MS may do when accessing the system on RACH.
T3212 : 40
Defines the time-out value that controls the location updating procedure, i.e. when notifying the availability of the MS to the
network.
Recommendation:
PT : 0 (macro & micro)
Cell Reselect Penalty Time (PT) is used to ensure the safety and validity of cell reselection because it helps to avoid frequent cell reselection.
CRO : 0 (GMS900), 12 (GSM1800)
Setting CRO with wide range of value will cause uncertain states in a network.
ACCMIN : 100 (GMS900), 90 (GSM1800)
Define minimum received signal level in dBm at the MS for permission to access the system.
TO : 0 (macro & micro)
Cell Reselect Temporary Offset (TO) indicates the temporary correction of C2. This parameter is valid only within the value specified by Cell
Reselect Penalty Time.
Recommendation:
ALPHA : 6-8
ALPHA is sent from BSC to the MS and decides the level of reduction of the MS output power in
relation to the path loss. The values are given as a multiple of 10.
GAMMA : 28-32
GAMMA is sent from the BSC to the MS to give a target value for the received signal strength at
the BTS. (GPRS)
Recommendation:
PTIMHF : 1
Penalty time at handover failure.
MAXTA: 63
Maximum timing advance before an MS is considered lost.
HOCLSACC : ON
Handover due to Cell load sharing accepted to this cell. helps to reduce cell congestion, improve success rate of channel assignment, and balance
the traffic load among cells, thus improving the network performance
IHO : OFF (SFH), ON (BB hopping)
In the hot-spot areas, densely populated urban areas, urban areas, suburbs, and rural areas, the recommended value is YES; in the high-speed
circumstances, the recommended value is NO.
Recommendation:
BSRXMIN : 105
Minimum required signal strength received at the BTS, at the reference point, to consider the cell as a possible candidate for handover. BSRXMIN
takes a positive value, which represents the corresponding negative value in calculations.
MSRXMIN : 95
Minimum required signal strength received at the MS in a given cell to consider the cell as a possible candidate for handover. MSRXMIN takes a
positive value, which represents the corresponding negative value in calculations.
SSLENSD : 10
Length of signal strength filter for speech/data. (unit SACCH)
QLENSD : 6
Length of quality filter for speech/data. (unit SACCH)

IRC uses the algorithm which minimizes the disturbance from an interferer by combining
the signal received on diverse antennas and suppressing the interfering signal.
