Reflection
As a parent of a child with exceptional needs there are certain things. When I did this presentation
I though what will be things I will like to know as a parents and that is why I mainly talked about
this points. I think the parents need to be remind of some of the basic information like to be
involved in their child development, many times they are scared but some of them dont know
they are important and their child development. By mentioning the challenges & strengths my
intention was to remind them that there are not the only parents or families that are having
challenges. I also mention what are the things that other parents have done to overcome this
challenges for example, one was overlooking their children strengths and using this as a tool. I
think one of the areas that parents stress more on is academic progress this why I decided to talk
about this and mention what are the things they can do to help their children in this area. I think
many times parents are un informed and that is why they dont get involved. I believe that social
& emotional life of the child and the family are important. They can use resources that are
available to them to enrich this area, and they have to push their children in a way to gain social
skills. Making a plan can be helpful for everyone in the family, and is important to plan for the
future. I think making a plan help them reach their goals too, and reduces the number they do of
mistakes too. And lastly I think it was important to providing with links, groups, and my
information as the teacher to find support and help, because many times they dont know where to
find help
