In the North, most Germans are
Protestants and speak High German.
In the South, many are Roman Catholic
and speak Low German.

After World War II, a wall was built
between eastern and western Europe to
divide Europe between the Communist
and Capitalist divisions.

The Alps is the primary mountain range.
There are 3 Major divisions:
Western Alps France and Italy
Central Alps - Switzerland

Europe.

Amadeus Mozart traveled around
Europe, composing music and gaining
fame before dying at age 35.

Salt mines salt was incredibly valuable
throughout the centuries and the
worlds oldest salt mine is found just
outside of Salzburg in Halstatt.

In reality, the von Trapps didnt hike across
the Alps to Switzerland to escape the Nazi
they walked across their yard to a train
station and went to Italy.
47 year-old Georg von Trapp and 22-year
old Maria married in 1927, a decade before
the Nazi invasion.

The main city in Austrias western
panhandle.
The primary mountain pass in Austria
is Brenner Pass, south of Innsbruck.
Its the lowest pass and stays open year
round due to warm foehns.
