Bibliography
Bibliography
A bibliography is a list of works such as
books, magazines, and articles that were
used as references for a paper. The
bibliography always appears at the end of
the paper, and the works are arranged
alphabetically based on the last names of
the authors.
It is important to include a bibliography in
order not to commit plagiarism, which is
the act of stating or using another person's
ideas without giving that person or source
due credit.
Preparing a Bibliography

The first thing you should do before creating

a bibliography is to know which style guide
to use. There are several out there, but the
most commonly used is the one by the
American Psychological Association, the APA
style guide.
Some important points to
take note of when writing a
bibliography using APA
Underlining and Italics

When writing a bibliography by

hand, the names of the publications
should be underlined. When typed,
they should be italicized.
Indentation
Citations in the bibliography should use hanging
indentation, which means that the first line of
each entry is flush left, and the following lines are
indented by a half inch.
Example:
Capitalization
The APA style uses sentence-style
capitalization for the titles of articles or
books, so only the first word of the title and
subtitle is capitalized. Exceptions are proper
names and periodical titles.
Format for Multiple Authors

In case there are several authors, the

ampersand (&) should be placed before the
last author's name. For works with more
than six authors, only the first one needs to
be written, and et al. may be used for the
rest.
Formatting the Bibliography

For books, the format is: Author's last name, first

initial. (Publication date). Book title. Additional
information. City of publication: Publishing
company.

Corellus Publishing.
For encyclopedia and dictionaries, the format
is: Author's last name, first initial. (Date). Title of
Article. Title of Encyclopedia (Volume, pages).

dictionary (Vol. 2, p. 159). Manila: New World
