PARTS OF A FLOWER
Sepals:
- are the colorful parts of most
flowers
Petals:
- are the colorful parts of most
flowers
Stamen:
- is the male reproductive organ of
a flower
Filament:
- is the slender stalk that holds the
anther
Anther:
- is the structure where the pollen
grains are formed.
Pollen Grains:
- are powdery particles that contain
the sperm cells
Pistil:
- is the female part of the flower
Stigma:
- is the tip of the pistil, on which the
pollen grain may land and
germinate
Style:
- is the tube that connects the
stigma to the base of the pistil
Ovary:
- is the tube that connects the
stigma to the base of the pistil
Ovules:
- contain the egg cells,
which when fertilized
develop into seeds
Receptacle:
