Abstract
Short range FM radio station for college campus is system can
be used at any place to transmit audio signals using FM
transmission, especially at institutions and organizations.

Here we are building a wireless FM transmitter which uses RF

communication to transmit the medium or low power FM signal.
Introduction
Radio frequency (RF) signal is any of the electromagnetic
wave signal which frequencies that lie in the range
extending from around 3 kHz to 300 GHz.
FM transmitter V2.0 module could modulate your voice on
the FM radio wave and anyone who has a radio device
could receive it.
The FM transmitter module communicates with Arduino
Uno R3. The input is given to audio jack by standard male-
to-male cable. The audio input is transmitted over
frequency and same frequency receiver receives it.
Components used in project
Arduino Uno
FM transmitter V2.0 module
Male-to-male audio cable
Breadboard
External Power supply (9V Battery)
Arduino Uno

The arduino is a microcontroller

bored based on the ATmega328.
Arduino is a open source
electronics prototyping platform
based on flexible easy to use
hardware and software.
Arduino Uno

The Arduino can be powered via are the USB

connection with an external power source is
selected automatically
It has 24 digital I/O pins 6 of them pwm output

The ATmege328 provides serial data (SDA) and serial

clock (SCK) 12C pins through which analog data
transfer between the devices on the I2C bus.
FM transmitter V2.0 module
FM transmitter V2.0 module
This module communicates with Arduino Uno
R3 or another microcontroller through I2C
interface.
Here, Arduino Uno R3 along with Arduino
library file is used for giving commands to
control and vary different frequencies within
88MHz 108MHz FM band.

Circuit Diagram of FM Station
Advantages
As RF Modules doesnt require line of sight
communication, the transmitter and receiver can be
isolated over a distance and data can be transmitted
successfully.
Reduce manpower
Time of operation comparatively less
It can be portable
Applications
They can also be used in home automation systems.
The station can also be used for making
announcements in colleges, industries, hospitals,
schools and other places using a condenser mic
amplifier circuit.
In remote areas where construction of fixed
communication station is not possible.
Conclusion
In this paper we proposed short range FM radio station
for college campus.
This system is used as interface between FM transmitter
module and Arduino Uno.
The proposed method is capable of transmitting and
Receiving FM Radio signals in 88MHz to 108MHz FM
band.
System could be used to broadcast academic information
in any of the freely available channel.
