Application
The main technological application for
cerium (III) oxide is as catalytic converters
for the reduction of emissions of CO in gases
from motor vehicles. In particular, cerium
oxide is added to the ingredients of diesel
talent.
Cerium (IV) oxide is regarded as one of the
most efficient materials for the precision
grinding optical components. Cerium
compounds are also used in the
manufacture of glasses, as well as a
component of the dye.

Uses of Cerium
Used in the manufacture e of
pyrophoric alloys for cigarette
lighters.
Can be also use as ceric sulphate,
for quantitative analysis.
Also can be used for glass
polishing, incandescent gas
mantles, Petroleum refining, and
Arc lighting

Dangers of Cerium
Cerium compounds are rarely
encountered by human/ most people,
because cerium is most likely used to
present fire and explosion hazard.
It doesnt cause much pollution but it can
make fire that can be dangerous to the
environment, especially when using kids
are playing with matches that uses
cerium it can be very dangerous.
