 KEY TENDENCIES OF ADOLESCENTS

Tendency to question:
The adolescent questions anything and
everything. Some questions in silence or some
in voice or some in behavior. Nothing is
abnormal about it. It is not a warning sign but
a good indication of the development of their
identity.
 Tendency to negate

They develop the practice of negating the authority and

conventionality. To negate means to have more
alternatives. They may negate but teachers cant do
that. To err is the fundamental right of the child. Never
be shocked to hear---- I cant learn this. They may even
bring something contrary to what we teach them.
Again it is also not a warning signal but normality at
this age. They are trying to establish their space and
identity in the social, psychological and academic
sectors.
 Tendency to deny

The students learn and attempt to deny what

we provide or even they deny the presence of
the teacher concept.
. The contemporary effort of teaching as we
teach is like accelerating 80km speed in the
first gear. Change the gear is the mantra
 Tendency to be in friendship
The craze for the relationship in this age is one of
their developmental task and need to make the
experimentations of the mature adult relation.
The effort or practice of making relations ships in
any form is not a dangerous practice at this age
but ---they may be in-experienced and weak in
managing relations --- Impulsivity in choice and
making relations --- Image of cooking the rice---
self understanding and maturity ---- for the
concept of maturity from impulsivity) Be
sensitive.
 Conclusion
Just love the students..... Just be watchful and
loving. This is a critical age and if you can
support an guide the student you will be a
hero in their mind and future life and if you
fail in that you will be a Zero in their mind or
even you will represent a negative character in
their future. Dont isolate our children in need
of care and protection but help them to be in
the main stream
