Introduction INSIDE OUT
Inside Out basically says in order to change any situation we must
first change ourselves ( our paradigms, motives and character)
We can change ourselves by changing our character and personality
ethics
In order to change our ethics we can have a paradigm shift because
the way we see the problem is the problem.
In order to be truly Inside Out we must have a new level of thinking
because, the problems we face cannot be solved at the same level of
thinking that created them according to Albert Einstein.
The paradigm shift of Inside out is a long and continuous process.
Habit 1 BE PROACTIVE
Habit 1 is all about becoming a proactive person and moving away from being a
reactive person.
The main difference between proactive and reactive people is that proactive
people take responsibility and do not blame conditions (social mirrors) for their
behaviour.
Proactive people also take the initiative by recognizing their responsibility to get
things done.
Proactive people focus on their circle of influence (things/situations that they can
change)
In order to become proactive people we need to change our habits, our language,
our methods of influence and expand our circle of influence by making and
keeping commitments.
Habit 2 BEGIN WITH THE END IN
MIND
Habit 2 is all about starting your journey with a clear picture of the
final destination in order to take steps in the right direction.
In order to begin with the end in mind there must be two creations
( mental creation and then physical creation)
There can be a first creation by design or default
In order to become your own first creator you must write a personal
mission statement by finding your centre and identifying your roles and
goals.
There are many centres such as spouse, money, religion and self
centeredness but the best option may be a principle centre
Habit 3 PUT FIRST THINGS
FIRST
Habit 3 is about self management
In order to make effective self management possible one must have
self awareness, imagination, conscience and will
Self management is becoming a quadrant II person in the time
management matrix
In order to become a quadrant II person one must be able to say no
and also be able to delegate issues outside of quadrant II to other
people
The quadrant II paradigm empowers one to see life through the
lens of importance rather than urgency
