Function of Construction Management Planning - it is the process of determining in advance what is to be done, where, when, and by whom. Organizing - it is the process of determining what tasks are to be done, it is to do them, how the task are to be grouped who report to whom and where are decision are to be made. Staffing - it involves filling and keeping filled the positions in the organization structure. Directing this function of management involves motivation, guidance, supervision, and leading the employee of the organization. Controlling- it is measuring and correcting individual and organizational performance to ensure that even conform to plans. Coordinating - it involves bringing together the works of various departments and sections so as to have a good communication. Scheduling - can be define as mechanical process of setting various planned activities in order by fixing starting and finishing dates for each activities of the work to execute the whole work in the systematic and orderly manner. Objectives of Construction Management The work should be executed most economically. The work should be executed as per specifications. The quality and workmanship of the work should be good. The work should be planned and organized properly. The work should be properly supervised by qualified and trained staff. The work should be completed within the specified estimated cost and time.
