The Apostles Creed
I Believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker
of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord;
Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born
of Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius
Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He
descended into hell; the third day He rose
again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the
right hand of God the Father Almighty;
from thence He shall come to judge the
quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy Universal
Church; the communion of saints; the
forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the
body; and the life everlasting. Amen

Passage: Mark 8:22-38
8:22. They came to Bethsaida, and some people
brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch
him.
8:23. He took the blind man by the hand and led
him outside the village. When He had spit on the
mans eyes and put His hands on him, Jesus asked,
Do you see anything?
8:24. He looked up and said, I see people; they
look like trees walking around.
8:25. Once more Jesus put His hands on the mans
eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was
restored, and he saw everything clearly.
8:26. Jesus sent him home, saying, Dont go into
the village.
8:27. Jesus and His disciples went on to the
villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way He
asked them, Who do people say I am?
8:28. They replied, Some say John the Baptist;
others say Elijah; and still others, one of the
prophets.
8:29. But what about you? He asked. Who do
you say I am? Peter answered, You are the
Christ.
8:30. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone about
Him.
8:31. He then began to teach them that the Son of
Man must suffer many things and be rejected by
the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the
law, and that He must be killed and after three
days rise again.
8:32. He spoke plainly about this, and Peter took
Him aside and began to rebuke Him.
8:33. But when Jesus turned and looked at His
disciples, He rebuked Peter. Get behind me,
Satan! He said. You do not have in mind the
things of God, but the things of men.
8:34. Then He called the crowd to Him along with
His disciples and said: If anyone would come
after Me, he must deny himself and take up his
cross and follow Me.
8:35. For whoever wants to save his life will lose
it, but whoever loses his life for Me and for the
gospel will save it.
8:36. What good is it for a man to gain the whole
world, yet forfeit his soul?
8:37. Or what can a man give in exchange for his
soul?
8:38. If anyone is ashamed of Me and my words in
this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of
Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in
His Fathers glory with the holy angels.

Mk 8:18 Do you have eyes but fail to see, and
ears but fail to hear? And dont you remember?
Mk 8:19 When I broke the five loaves for the five
thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces did you
pick up? Twelve, they replied.
Mk 8:20 And when I broke the seven loaves for
the four thousand, how many basketfuls of pieces
did you pick up? They answered, Seven.
Mk 8:22 They came to Bethsaida, and some

Mk 2:3. Then they came to Him, bringing a
paralytic who was carried by four men.

because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof
where He was. So when they had broken through,
they let down the bed on which the paralytic was
lying.

Mk 8:22 They came to Bethsaida, and some

people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to
touch Him.

Mk 8:25. Once more Jesus put His hands on the
mans eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight
was restored, and he saw everything clearly.
Lk 18:41 What do you want me to do for you?
Lord, I want to see, he replied.
Lk 18:42 Jesus said to him, Receive your sight;
your faith has healed you.
Lk 18:43 Immediately he received his sight and
followed Jesus, praising God. When all the
people saw it, they also praised God.
Ex. 23:29 But I will not drive them out in a single
year, because the land would become desolate
and the wild animals too numerous for you.
Ex. 23:30 Little by little I will drive them out
before you, until you have increased enough to
take possession of the land.
Mk 8:27. Jesus and His disciples went on to the
villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way
He asked them, Who do people say I am?
Mk 8:28. They replied, Some say John the
Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of

Mk 8:27. Jesus and His disciples went on to the
villages around Caesarea Philippi. On the way He
asked them, Who do people say I am?

Mk 8:28. They replied, Some say John the

Baptist; others say Elijah; and still others, one of
the prophets.
Mk 6:14 King Herod heard about this, for Jesus
Name had become well known. Some were
saying, John the Baptist has been raised from the
dead, and that is why miraculous powers are at
work in Him.
Mk 6:15 Others said, He is Elijah. And still
others claimed, He is a prophet, like one of the
prophets of long ago.
Mk 6:16 But when Herod heard this, he said,
John, whom I beheaded, has been raised from
the dead!
Mk 8:29. But what about you? He asked. Who
do you say I am? Peter answered, You are the
Christ.
Mk 8:30. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone
about Him.
Mk 8:29. But what about you? He asked. Who
do you say I am? Peter answered, You are the
Christ.
Mk 8:30. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone
about Him.
Mt 8:27 NLT The disciples were amazed. "Who
is this man?" they asked. "Even the winds and
waves obey Him!"
Mk 8:29. But what about you? He asked. Who
do you say I am? Peter answered, You are the
Christ.
Mt 8:17 Jesus answered and said to him, Blessed
are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood
has not revealed this to you, but My Father who
is in Heaven.
1 Cor12:3 Therefore I want you to know that no
one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says,
Jesus be cursed, and no one can say, Jesus is
Lord, except by the Holy Spirit.
Rm 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the
Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has
raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rm 10:10 For with the heart one believes unto
righteousness, and with the mouth confession is
made unto salvation.
Mt 8:30. Jesus warned them not to tell anyone
about Him.
8:31. He then began to teach them that the Son of
Man must suffer many things and be rejected by
the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the

8:31. He then began to teach them that the Son of
Man must suffer many things and be rejected by
the elders, the chief priests and the teachers of the
law, and that He must be killed and after three
days rise again.
Is 53:3 He is despised and rejected by men, A
Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And
we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was
despised, and we did not esteem Him.
Is 53:4 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried
our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
Is 53:5 But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;
the chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
and by His stripes we are healed.
Mt 8:32 He spoke plainly about this, and Peter
took Him aside and began to rebuke Him.

Mt 8:33. But when Jesus turned and looked at

His disciples, He rebuked Peter. Get behind

the things of God, but the things of men.
Jn 1:42 And he brought him to Jesus. Jesus
looked at him and said, "You are Simon son of
John. You will be called Cephas" (which, when
translated, is Peter).
Lk 22:3 Then Satan entered Judas, called
Iscariot, one of the Twelve.
Gal 5:16 So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you
will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Gal 5:17 For the flesh desires what is contrary to
the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the
flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so
that you are not to do whatever you want.
Mt 8:34 Then He called the crowd to Him along
with His disciples and said: Whoever wants to
be my disciple must deny themselves and take
up their cross and follow me.
Lk 9:23 Then He said to them all: If anyone
would come after me, he must deny himself and
take up his cross daily and follow Me

Lk 1:38 "I am the Lord's servant," Mary

answered. "May your word to me be fulfilled."
Then the angel left her.
Mk 8:35. For whoever wants to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me
and for the gospel will save it.
Mk 8:36. What good is it for a man to gain the
whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
Mk 8:37. Or what can a man give in exchange
for his soul?
Mk 8:38. If anyone is ashamed of Me and my
words in this adulterous and sinful generation,
the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when
He comes in His Fathers glory with the holy
angels.
Jn 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill
and destroy; I have come that they may have
life, and have it to the full.
Mk 8:35. For whoever wants to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for Me
and for the gospel will save it.
Mk 8:36. What good is it for a man to gain the
whole world, yet forfeit his soul?
Mk 8:37. Or what can a man give in exchange

Bathe my trembling heart and brow;
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now.

Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now.

Come, O come and fill me now.
Thou canst fill me, gracious Spirit,
Though I cannot tell Thee how;
But I need Thee, greatly need Thee;
Come, O come and fill me now.

Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now.
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now.
Cleanse and comfort, bless and save me;
Bathe, O, bathe my heart and brow;
Thou art comforting and saving,
Thou art sweetly filling now.

Refrain
Fill me now, fill me now,
Jesus, come and fill me now.
Fill me with Thy hallowed presence,
Come, O come and fill me now. X2
