Title:

Our SAF in 2050


Objectives
As a team, students are to look at the
present to predict the future of the SAF
in 2050.
Combining creativity with objective
reasoning, students are to come up with
designs, plans and structure of the SAF
in 2050.
Present their findings in a creative,
innovative and effective way.
Instructions
1. You will be grouped in teams of 5-8, representing a military contractor
company. Your task is in 4 parts:
a) Your company is to look at the present to predict future trends that will
affect the SAF in 2050.
Come up with reasonable explanations why the SAF will look, adapt,
retool, build, train, eat, sleep, cook, fight, ... In this way
Rely on your notes for External Factors that affected Singapore
Project as a guide.
b) Design a military hardware that will be used by the SAF in 2050 using
PowerPoint to present.
c) Create a prototype of the military hardware as part of your presentation.
Does not have to be done to scale.
d) Present (within 8 minutes) your product in a creative, innovative and
effective way to either General See Toh Cindy or General Gavin Ang.
Imagine
By 2050, a lot of things would have changed.
Like technology, population, weather, etc.
The SAF would have been forced to change
with the times
How would they adapt?
How would they remain as an effective force?
Why were they forced into it?

INSTRUCTIONS
After each persons individual research, as a Military Contractor
Company

Pool your data (eg. future trends, newest types of military


hardware, etc.)
Choose aspects of the SAF your group as whole would like to
present.
Come up with reasonable explanations why the SAF will look,
adapt , retool, build, train, eat, sleep, cook, fight, ... this way
Prepare your PowerPoint slides.
Build your prototype.
Come up with a well-rehearsed presentation within the set-
time limit of 8 minutes.

Check on the various aspects of the rubrics to
score well for the project
Pitching of your Product to the SAF
Term 3 Week 6 to 8

PowerPoint Presentation Slides to be uploaded


onto a flashdrive and downloaded onto the
teachers laptop.
Prototype to be shown
8 Minutes Presentation (not including the
teachers question on the prototype)
