Theoretical overview
Peasant household is a family and labor association of persons
engaged in agriculture together. The peasant household. Which
was associated with a obschiana (peasant commune), became a
special institution durring the precapitalist period. With the
penetration of capitalism into agriculture, the jointly owned
propriety of the peasant household was replaced by the privately
owned propriety of the head of household.
Legal framework
THE LAW OF THE REPUBLIC OF MOLDOVA on
peasant household (farmer), Nr.1353-XIV from
03.11.2000 Official Gazette of Moldova nr.14-15
from 08.02.2001
The peasant household is an individual enterprise
based on private property on agricultural land
(further referred to in land) and other goods, on
personal work of members of a family (members of
the peasant household) with the purpose to obtain
agricultural products, their primary processing,
marketing with preponderance of their own
agricultural production.
The peasant household can be made up of one
individual.
Only peasant households can develop its activities
as an individual entrepreneur in agriculture.
The rights and obligations of the peasant
household regarding insurance

The peasant household is entitled:


To ensure the risk of loss (or destruction) or
deterioration of joint property of household
members, as well as other entrepreneur risks;
To ensure, according to the legislation, the
protection of the households members' work and
people working on a contract basis;
To pay in full and on time employees' salaries and
to pay on behalf of members and employees of
the household state social security contributions
and provide them with social assistance;
Labor, social insurance and
state social assistance
The working time in the peasant household is
included in seniority in the work and in the
contribution period on the basis of the work
registrations and certificates issued by the
territorial houses of the House of National Social
Insurance, confirming the payment of the state
social insurance contributions.
The members and employees of the peasant
household are liable for social insurance and state
social assistance in accordance with the
legislation.
Agricultural risks that can be insured
Farm property
Cover for damage to your buildings, produce, deadstock, machinery
and tools caused by fire, lightning, explosion, impact, malicious

Milk tanks
Including uncollected milk as well as loss due to antibiotic

lightning, explosion, impact, malicious damage & theft. Further
enhanced by fatal injury whilst straying & in transit, worrying,
as well as full mortality and disease cover if required.
Personal accident
Provides cover for you, your working family and your business
for bodily injury and illness (if required) to compensate your
inability to work for up to 104 weeks.
Business interruption
Based upon the perils for which you are insured, the
business interruption section of a farm policy
provides cover for loss of income and additional
costs resulting from an incident which affects the
day to day running of your business.
Hail Cover
Hail cover is available with an annually renewable
policy with cover based on total cropped areas
including vegetables and high risk crops.
Household
Your family home and any other property occupied
by family or let to tenants benefits from protection
for the buildings, contents and personal belongings,
including accidental damage cover if required.
Employers liability
Protecting against legal liability for damages suffered by an employee in
respect of any injury or illness suffered by them at work.Agricultural wages
board cover also remains available.
Public and products liability
Protecting your business in the event of third party injury or third party
property damage, being caused by you up to the limit of indemnity provided.
Environmental liability
Meeting the environmental liability directive and providing for costs
associated with the effects of clean up and remediation from a pollution
event.
Goods in Transit
Protecting the value of property in transit, for loss,
destruction or damage, within the Territorial Limits
whilst carried by your own vehicles.
All risks
A section of cover extending to include accidental
damage on a premises, worldwide basis for portable
property or that requiring specialist cover such as
GPS equipment, mobile phones and laptops as well
as other office equipment.
