Set up your New


Project as if you are
going to redraw the
entire P&ID
collection
Step #2

Create a NEW
drawing using the tools
in P&ID
This sets up all your
Standards you created in
your Project.

Insert the drawing to be


converted as a block

Step #3
Change all items on drawing to
Layer 0 with color as bylayer

Then EXPLODE
Step #4
Convert all Equipment items
to P&ID smart items or
insert standard items from the
palette on top of each existing
piece of equipment

OR

Insert standard items from the


palette on top of each existing piece
of equipment

Remove replaced items


Step #5
Trace process lines over
existing lines, one at a time,
removing underlying lines as
you go

Place lines over the top of all


inline assets

Tagging process
lines at this time
will make inline
assets easier

Inline Assets
(if process line is there
converting an assets does
break the line)

objects ID_Count
Executes a Convert to
P&ID Object
