Philosophy of Education
Educational philosophy is philosophy applied to education
as a specific area of human endeavour.
Involves bringing those critical reflections which
characterize philosophy in general to influence and direct
the range of experiences and possessions that may be
referred to as education.
Does not exist in a vacuum, but within a particular social
and historical context.
Educational philosophy, according to Soltis (1988) has
three dimensions:
(1) the personal
(2) the public
(3) the professional.

Stresses that students should test ideas by active experimentation

education

An understanding of the purpose of education process for humanity.

to adjudicate conflicts over values in education.

is important when you are going to try to travel to some place that
you have never been.
