Impulsiveness= Shows lack of self-control; no lordship
of Christ in lovelife =no lordship of Christ in your life;
ang pagiging Lord ng Panginoon ay pang-kabuuan
Love-nat ayon sa Genesis 6:1:2

the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto
them, that the sons of God(descendants of Seth) saw
the daughters of men (Descendants of Cain) were fair,
and they took them wives all which they chose.

2. Infatuation(common term) or limerence
(psychology term) or patay na patay- addiction
to romance or the concept of love; in love with
love; in love sa romansa or sa kilig ng pag-ibig
-the state of being infatuated or obsessed with
another person
-acute longing for emotional reciprocation (to be
loved in return) mahalin din ako
-emotional dependence on another person
 Infatuation leads to a highly romanticized
concept of love
Causes of infatuation:

Cultural influence
Movies-longing to have a love story like the
characters (but EVERYTHING is scripted, pati yung
mga tingin at titig at ngiti)
TV shows longing to experience kilig or
excitement like the characters
Music- ex. Crazy for You
Celebrity worship (fans patay na patay sa idolo)
Lahat ng mga tingin ay SCRIPTED at DIRECTED,
Sasabayan pa ng music scoring; EDITED lahat
 Mga panganib ng infatuation:

Unrequited love (not loved in return) leads to

greater sense of rejection/insecurity (hindi ka
minahal, leads to low self-esteem... maybe I am
ugly) trying to find self-worth in romance and
the persons responses (tumingin siya sa akin!!)
May lead to sexual sin when object of limerence
shows sexual advances (giving in)
May lead to assault/crime (rape of object of
limerence)

stares at a woman with lust for her has already

moral law (adultery, fornication, homosexual

Concupiscence greek word epithumia desire,
craving, longing, desire for what is forbidden, lust
Lasciviousness greek word aselgeia- unbridled
lust, excess, licentiousness, shamelessness

that you keep away from sexual immorality, that
each of you know how to possess his own body in
holiness and honor, not in lustful passion like the
Gentiles who do not know God

for the Lord, and the Lord for the body

 Purpose of marriage:
To be fruitful and multiply and subdue the earth
(command to Noah in Genesis 8:17)
To seek Godly offspring (Malachi 2:15)
Did He not make them one?...And why did He make
them one? Because He was seeking Godly offspring
For unity and stability of the family

Blessings:
For good- Whosoever findeth a wife findeth a good
thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord Proverbs
18:22
For pleasure (Proverbs5:18-19) rejoice with the wife
of your youth, may her body satisfy thee always
 God created and ordained sex within marriage. It
is Gods design. It is not evil or unholy WITHIN
MARRIAGE.
The word of God extols the joys of God-given,
God-directed sexual love in marriage.(Song of
Solomon)
Marriage represents on earth the Holy Love of
the Heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus Christ the Lord
has for His Body, the Church.
It is an unselfish love, not a selfish love.
 What are the reasons for this design?
Protection from emotional damage because of the
protection of commitment of the marriage vows
Sex= Total giving of ones self to one spouse

Casual sex total giving without the protection

of commitment
Leads to low self-esteem esp in women

Low self-esteem leads to victimization vicious

cycle
 Man and woman become one flesh (physical
bond).
There is a deep emotional bond. (soul)

One gives ones whole self.(body and soul)

Intimacy is uniquely human. Animals have

intercourse to procreate; humans, however, can
experience intimacy and pleasure in the marital
bond to bring forth new life in love.
 This differentiates us from animals with regard
to sex
We have reason and will and conscience and
spirit
Animals merely act without any rational
consideration; but humans can act thoughtfully,
can reason about morality, and dont have to be
slaves to base appetites.
 Animals dont have morals = moral values
pertaining to sexual behavior
Have you ever seen a female dog crying because
of an unfaithful male dog?
 Marriage is Gods design of protection for women.
Women are more emotional in a relationship

They must be protected

 Goals:
Relationships ->Marriage

Not for romance(in love with love, I just want to

have a BF/GF), to cover insecurity(siya lang ang
nagmamahal sa akin nang tunay), not to heal a
broken heart (panakip-butas)
Our example is Christs love for the church- a
sacrificing, unselfish love that brings both closer
to God, Gods love draws people to Himself and
His holiness and righteousness, love that hates
sin
 Marriage- the two become one flesh
Union of soul and body
Complete pouring out of ones heart in marriage
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his
mother, and shall cleave or cling unto his wife, and
they shall be one flesh Genesis 2:24

Before marriage: you have to hold back certain things

you share- some things can only be shared in the
setting of a marriage between a husband and wife
Emotional unity without marriage- very easily leads
to sexual sin
After marriage:
Emotional closeness outside marriage easily leads to
adultery

MEDICAL CONSEQUENCES OF
SEXUAL SIN
 1. Emotional damage
When two bodies become one flesh, there is an exchange of
bodily fluids and a rush of pleasure chemicals in the body
Oxytocin(attachment hormone), adrenaline(increased
heartbeat/adrenaline rush), serotonin(happy hormone) are
released in the brain
Within the protection of marriage, this is part of Gods
design
Outside of Gods design for marriage, this leads to soul
ties or attachment, emotional trauma and pain, living
with physical abuse, serial partners
Alcoholism, drug addiction, etc
Depression and brief reactive psychosis
One tries to look for a substitute for love/ numb the pain
 Emotional trauma because of defilement of
marriage bed
Marriage should be honored by all, and the
marriage bed should not be defiled. For God will
judge those who commit sexual sins, especially
those who commit adultery Hebrews 13:5
Emotional trauma from sin and disobedience-
the curses of disobedience (Deuteronomy 28) and
the neurosis of disobedience (Ecclesiastes)-
everything becomes meaningless because you
tried to live apart from God in disobedience
2. Infectious disease
Nature never forgives- the consequences of
breaking natural laws may be irreversible
Nature- meaning bacteria, viruses, fungi, and
parasitesliving in a persons reproductive
organs- do not think, they are just there, and
with the opportunity for survival, will simply
transfer from one human to another
Sexual sin-natural consequence (pertaining to
natural laws)--> viral infections, bacterial
infections, parasitic infections, fungal infections.
Sexual sin is sinning against ones own body
1 Corinthians 6:18-20
Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a
person commits are outside his body, but he who
sins sexually sins against his own body.
Do you not know that your body is a temple of the
Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have
received from God? You are not your own; you
were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your body.

Sexually transmitted= infection is passed from
one person to another primarily through sexual
acts
Did you know that a womans reproductive
system is made of mucous membrane- same as
the inside of the eyelids and the cheeks. (no skin
layer)
Thus this is more prone to disease

HPV infection leads to mutation of cells in

womens reproductive system =cervical cancer
 Viral Infections
Viruses have to invade human cells in order to
multiply; they use the cells to make more viruses
Herpes virus- blisters,sores ; the virus stays with
you for the rest of your life
 Human papilloma virus- genital warts (kulugo),
cervical cancer; virus stays in your body
 HIV- virus stays with you/never leaves. attacks
ones immune cells (T-helper cells or CD4
lymphocytes); once cell count is very low(200)-
>AIDS
 Hepatitis B Virus- virus stays in your body and may
cause cirrhosis and liver cancer
 Bacterial infections
Gonorrhea (Neisseria gonorrheae)
Chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis)

baby)=a new life, a new person made in the
image of God
