ATTITUDE AND CHARACTER

Attitude determines how you handle or approach

certain things, and it is all up to your own decision how
you are going to do those particular things. This means
that attitude is a choice, and you can change it to fit
the situation or environment you are in.
Compared to character, it isalreadyinnate in every
person and it is not subject for change. It makes you do
things you are not supposed to do in front of many
people, but you do it anyway because thats your
character.
Attitude is a choice, whereas character is an identity.
You can gain your character with the right values and
education, while you can get your attitude through
hard knocks or through experience. Attitude shows
what a person wants while character does not give
importance to wants, it will just directly show what
qualities a person lives by. You can easily notice
someones character because it shows externally.
Attitudes are not that easy to figure out because it is
within a person and it is up for him to change it and fit
in. It will take you a long time to know the attitude of a
person but knowing someones character is fast.
Attitude is something you can choose to change in a
short span of time unlike someones character, which
will take you a very long time to change.
Here are some of the good characters one must have
to enhance his values in life, these are:
Courage, patience, honesty, integrity, loyalty and
many more.
A bad character is called vices, and here are some
example of vices; falsehood, dishonesty, sloth,
procrastination and more. Character makes up your
entire identity. Having the right values makes up a
Summary:
You can change your attitude but you cant change
your character just like that.
Character is more on identity attitude is on how you
approach things.
Character can be built through education while
attitude is built through experience.
You can easily notice character because it surfaces
through the people, while attitude is hard to see
because a person can manipulate ones attitude.
GENDER SENSITIVITY
DEFINITIONS: SEX VS. GENDER

Whatissex?
Sexisdefinedbythegonadseitherphenotypicallyorgenotypic
ally. It is generally assigned at birth by external genital
appearance. Genderon the other hand is identified by ones
own identification as male, female or intersex.

Gendermayalsobebasedonlegalstatus,socialinteractions,p

determined, whereas gender is culturally determined.
Gender sensitivity is the awareness and insight into the state of the other
sex, with referencetohistorical rootsofsexiststereotyping,discrimination
andviolence. Another definition would be the awareness and acceptance of
the roles and duties

Strategies are also different to achieve equitable outcomes for women and
men. Global development aims to improve the life of every person,
regardless ofability, age, sexual orientation, gender, race, class or
ethnicity.
FACTS:

Gendersensitivityisanintegralpartofdecisionmakinginindust
rialized countries where there is agrowing number of female
headed households, especially in the urban setting. In less
developed countries, these issues are aggravated by cheap,
gender insensitive alternatives which cause stress and discomfort
especially among females whose needs greatly differ from men.
However, gender sensitivity is not about pitting women against
men. An education that is gender sensitive benefits members of
both sexes. Sexism creates bias and promotes an unjust society.
It exists both among men and among women. It does not respect
individuals according to their aspirations, potentials or abilities.
ISSUES ON GENDER SENSITIVITY

A. GENDER ROLES
Productive comprises the work done by both women and men for
payment in cash or kind
Reproductive comprises the childbearing responsibilities and
domestic tasks requiredto guarantee themaintenance andwellbeing
ofhousehold members. It includes not only biological reproduction but
also the care and maintenance of the persons who comprise
thehousehold.
Communitymanagementrolecomprisesactivities undertakenatthe
community level to contribute to the development or political
organization ofthe community. It isusually voluntary, unpaid work.

only 159 of 982 (16%) of career top executive positions at the
civil service and only 15% in the private sector.

HUMAN BEHAVIOR
Human behaviorrefers to the array of everyphysical
actionand observableemotionassociated
withindividuals, as well as thehumanrace as a whole.
While specific traits of
one'spersonalityandtemperamentmay be more
consistent, other behaviors will change as one moves
from birth through adulthood. In addition to being
dictated by age and genetics, behavior, driven in part
bythoughtsandfeelings, is an insight into
individualpsyche, revealing among other
thingsattitudesandvalues.Social behavior, a subset
of human behavior, study the considerable influence
FACTORS:
GENETICS
Long beforeCharles Darwinpublished his bookon the
origin of speciesin 1859, animal breeders knew that
patterns of behavior are somehow influenced by
inheritance from parents. Studies of identical twins as
compared to less closely related human beings, and of
children brought up in adoptive homes, have helped
scientists understand the influence of genetics on
human behavior. The study ofhuman behaviour
geneticsis still developing steadily with new methods
such as genome-wide association studies.
Social norms
Social norms, the often-unspoken rules of a group,
shape not just our behaviours but also our attitudes. An
individuals behavior varies depending on the group(s)
they are a part of, a characteristic of society that
allows to norms heavily impact society. Without social
norms, human society would not function as it
currently does; humans would have to be more
abstract in their behaviour, as there would not be a
pre-tested 'normal' standardized lifestyle, and
individuals would have to make many more choices for
Creativity
Creativity is assumed to be present within every
individual.Without creative minds, we would not live in a
modern world like today. Creativity pushes people past their
comfort zone. Creativity is what defines human beings.
Creativity has kept people alive during harsh conditions, and it
has also made certain individuals wealthy. We use creativity in
our daily lives as well, such as finding a shortcut to a
destination.
Core faith and culture
Another important aspect of human behavior is their
corefaith. This faith can be manifested in the forms
ofreligion,philosophy,culture, and/or personal belief and
often affects the way a person can behave.
Moralsare another factor of core faith that affects the way
a person behaves. Emotions connected to morals
including shame, pride, and discomfort and these can
change the way a person acts. Most importantly, shame
and guilt have a large impact on behavior.
Lastly, culture highly affects human behavior. The beliefs
of certain cultures are taught to children from such a
young age that they are greatly affected as they grow up.
These beliefs are taken into consideration throughout daily
life, which leads to people from different cultures acting
differently. These differences are able to alter the way
different cultures and areas of the world interact and act.
