on the same
station.
Set the IP of

click OK.
Comments
Service Status setting in Normal NE is same as root NE. So do the same steps for normal NE.
In a hub if there are two IDUs use LAN cable between NMS port to NMS port.
If in any case NMS port is used we can configure first Eth Port as NE management.
Ethernet Ports Enable/Disable

Ethernet port can be enable or disable from Eth Port

Setting. Click on desired port to enable or disable.
Ethernet Port Speed:

If Ethernet port
enabled its speed
should be set
auto.
VLAN Creation: Example: Site MMN012-MMN008-MMN751_BSC

We want to create
VLAN for ZTE
SDR. First we
enable eth port-1
for SDR. Set the
station ID in port
name.
VLAN Setting: Example site:MMN012

Click on VLAN Setting and then click on VLAN List.

VLAN List

Click on Add VLAN. Type VLAN id and VLAN

Service Name. Type site id in VLAN service Name.
VLAN Assignment to Eth Port:

Click on Main Board Port01 to assign a VLAN

from VLAN list:
VLAN Assignment:

Set port mode trunk and check the planned

VLAN ID from list.
VLAN assignment to MODEM (radio link) Port:

VLAN ID from list.
VLAN Main Page after Creation:

After VLAN creation the VLAN IDs will appear

against each port like here:
Far End MMN008 VLAN Creation:

First of all VLAN id of Site MMN012 should be

added in VLAN list of MMN008.:
VLAN Assignment of Modem (Radio Link) Port

Assign the VLAN of Site MMN012 to the link MMN012-

MMN008 Modem. Use the same procedure as described in
previous slides:
VLAN Assignment to other port facing MMN751-BSC

As there are two IDU on MMN008 station and our example link is in
second IDU but the link with BSC is in first IDU. Therefore we use
Ethernet Ports and a physical LAN cable between two IDUs. So we
assign VLAN to eth port02 which is connected with first IDU.

MMN012 should be added in
VLAN list.
VLAN assignment to Link facing MMN008

Assign the
VLAN of
MMN012 to
Modem Port
MMN008--
MMN751.
VLAN Assignment to LAG Ethernet Group:

At BSC site VLANs of all

cluster Sites are assigned to
two GbE Optical Ports.
Normally 3rd &4th port is used
in iPaso. We set LAG function
over these ports. These ports
are physically connected with
PTN via fiber cables and then
PTN is connected with BSC. So
we assign VLAN of our example
site MMN012.
Tips for VLAN Configuration:
VLAN is used for ZTE SDR in Telenor Vega Project.
We assign VLAN to ZTE SDR and same VLAN is assigned to NEC iPasolinks ethernet and modem
ports from terminal site to up till BSC site.
In a hub site we simply assign the VLAN to MODEM facing terminal site and to MODEM facing BSC
site. Same rule of thumb is used for all the hub in the path.
If there are two IDUs in a hub we use physical LAN cable between two IDU and assign all the VLAN
coming from sites two both end IDUs eth ports.
VLAN mode is always trunk
Equipment Clock Setting:

Use this setting for Root NE. Root NE is always master and
all other NEs are salve in iPaso Network.
Equipment Clock Setting: Slave

For normal NE use this Clock Setting. Normal NE is always

Slave.
Note: In a hub if there are two IDUs then the first IDU will be
slave and second IDU will be master. All other IDU connected
with second IDU will be slave.
