Sustainability
of Food Production

By: Zofia Wallace

Agricultural Revolution
There were two major advancements in the development of
the agricultural revolution.
#1: about 10,000 B.C. Going from hunting and gathering to
creating community farms.
#2: 18th century. More efficient ways to grow crops. Made it
possible to raise more livestock.

Health: about 500,000 children are effected by food dye every year.
Nitrogen fertilizer can contaminate our water.
Obesity rates went up.

Fact: researchers estimate that the cost of using nitrogen fertilizers on corn is
more then twice the cost as the market value of corn.
Not just effecting our life.
Dog food: Unfortunately big corporations are not making the
most healthy dog food. They are soaking kibble in grease and
fat.
Summary
The agricultural revolution was the transition from hunting and gathering to
stationary farming.
The production of food in the modern day world has negative effects on our
environment and positive effects on supporting the food demand and by
lowering the amount of the hungry.
There is a higher obesity rate now then before the sur-plus of food existed.
Meaning the food is having negative health effects on people.
Some animal food ( mostly dog food ) is soaked in oil and grease to increase the
amount of fat.
