1800 MHz Band Spectrum Allocation

Telkomsel Frequency Allocation after 1800 MHz Band Re-arrangement

The Frequency Allocation is split into 2: The border definition for LTE Zone and Buffer Zone is based
1. Macro Frequency Channel Allocation (Total 49 Channels) on:
18 Channel for DCS1800 BCCH Link Budget Calculation to get the coverage distance for
31 Channel for DCS1800 TCH Hopping each site
Max. Configuration 6/6/6 Interference Matrix measurement
2. Macro and Indoor Channel Allocation (12 Channels) Coverage Plot and Link Budget Calculation comparison
BCCH and TCH for Indoor allocation
Site tier
TCH for Macro, so that the config can go up to 8/8/8
Additional 5 MHz for LTE, becoming 15 MHz

The GSM900 configuration will remain 1/1/1 in the existing LTE Area
TRX Upgrade and DCS1800 Site Collocation Plan in
The existing LTE900 will be transformed to U900 gradually when the LTE1800
standalone GSM900 and/or WCDMA2100 and New Site coverage is the same with LTE900 area, for the following reasons:
Proposal The current LTE subscribers will not experience coverage problem
BSC and RNC Upgrade/Rehoming Plan, due to additional For indoor subscribers that previously only served by 900 band, will be
covered by U900 service so the data service will not dropped significantly
Sites and TRX Upgrade (if required)
U900 will be the alternative solution to carry the voice traffic from 2G to
free up the capacity of 2G Layer

Operational/Lessons Learnt from Bali
Implementation
Lessons Learnt Bali LTE (1/2)

Topics Issues identified Forward Action

Smart LTE Layering Need longer time to camp to LTE after CSFB from 3G The feature has to be activated across the LTE
feature in 3G clusters.
Feature LTE system information Many TAU reject after feature implemented For every changing or new addition related LAC and
feature in 2G RAC in 2G and 3G, it shall be registered also in DNS
for LTE side

Coverage Bad spots were identified due to coverage along main - Need to cater for the possible coverage issues in
route. initial planning phase including VIP routes.

Design Quality Low performance is suspected due to external interference Early detection and escalation and also timely
fixation of issues to minimize the impact.

Routing creation Low Intra-Frequency HOSR due to many 'X2 link interface' Regular database checking with actual routing
alarms configuration and close coordination with other
transmission vendor.

Quality Low throughput at International Airport due to high packet Ensure the transmission quality prior to LTE
Transport loss at indoor site (AIRPORTMAC2IT) integration.

Capacity Throughput limitation (Max DL throughput only 18 Mbps) Ensure transmission bandwidth is enough as per
at MIMO site planning guideline prior to implementation.
