˜umanity is tremendously benefited by
science and technology in the fields of
medicine, agriculture etc.

àhe present scientific culture, is contrary to

the message of the Bhagavatam, the timeless
spiritual literature of India because according
to the Bhagavatam, Science is leading
humanity towards complete materialism.
_ccording to Srila Prabhupada

´àhe primary & singular purpose of the human form of life is

to inquire about the nature of _bsolute àruth. What is the
nature of reality, what is the nature of existence and what is
life?µ

In Vedanta or Vedic traditions there has always been harmony

between Science and Religion.
V àhe living being or life is beyond molecules.
V Its ontological nature is non molecular or
non material and it is spiritual.
V Fundamental property of life is consciousness
and it is non material.
V Knowing the DN_ sequence,or knowing the
genetic code is not sufficient to understand life
_ brilliant scientist can also be a devoted religious
person like Pasteur and Planck

Max Planck (1858-1947)

´_nybody who has been seriously engaged in
scientific work of any kind realizes that over
the entrance to the
gates of the temple of science are written the
words: s
 It is a quality which
the scientist cannot dispense with.µ
´My religion consists of a humble admiration of the illimitable
superior spirit who reveals himself in the slight details we
are able to perceive with our frail and feeble minds.µ
--_lbert Einstein
V Inability of creating life by the assembly of
biomolecules (DN_, RN_, Proteins) in the
laboratory suggest that knowledge of any
biomolecule will not be able to explain what life
is.
V Can any scientist inject any chemical to revive a
dead person?
V Such knowledge ,on the otherhand, will indicate
the existence of some higher wisdom beyond
scientific knowledge which is Life.
àhere is disunity, conflict and war among
different religions of the world. So we should
seek not only the synthesis of Science and
Religion but also deliberate upon bringing unity
and synthesis amongst all religious traditions of
the world.

When all human activities including Science and Religion

acknowledge the existence of God, there will be a
common ground. In this way, synthesis of all religious
traditions««..can be achieved.
Faith is the base of science and religion

Science and spirituality are both concerned

with 'explaining' the world -- each from a
different perspective, and each with different
methods
Both must become complimentary to each
other and work for the welfare of society.
´Religion is faith; Science is knowledge;
I think, is quite wrong .
It misses the actual basis of science, which
is faith .µ

Why ?
Our senses are limited in their ranges of
perception .

Prom to error & illusion

à
  '

Spirituality is the science of refinement of
consciousness . It starts with contemplation of
divinity within.
„Self-restraint and self-disciplines are invariably
associated with it
„Like the material world the subtle and causal world of
consciousness can also be managed and harnessed.
„Science is a systematic knowledge derived from
hypothesis.
„Experimentation ,observation and explanation of the
results to test the hypothesis .
Science , the icon
of material force
Spirituality,
representative of
consciousness
should go hand in
hand .........
4 àhe role of faith
4 Inferring about the domain of reality
beyond sense perception
4 Origin of life
4 Nature of consciousness
4 Ethical challenge
àhere is a great need for both science & religion to
have a broader perspective each showing
flexibility & openness that is not guided by either
scientific or religious fanaticism

àhe core of resolving the conflict between science

& religion lies in proving, in one way or the other ,
the life is the product of evolution of matter or not
V Viruses are the missing link between life and
non-life.
V Viruses consist of either DN_ or RN_.

V Viruses are classified according to their host.

V Viruses can participate in life processes when it

succeeds in becoming part of a living host cell.
From all of above we come to know that scientist
performing research work in the field of
biology should make a solid plan to study
¶viruses· to know life·s origin.
V God the Supreme Being, is the original life and
everything including life is generated from
him. _ll religious traditions support this view.

V Role of free will in ˜uman life:

V In a family each member has different visions,
beliefs and desires and each one see the nature
of reality from different angles. So we can say
that it is the free will of the individual that
allows him or her to choose a certain path.
V àhe force generated by one·s action that is held in
hinduism and buddhism to sustain the cycle of
death and rebirths and to determind destiny in
one·next existence.
V Law given by God.
V Protection of wild lifes.
V Science and religion are dedicated to the search for
truth and happiness.
V Vedas prescribe that sincere person should be
educated.
V àwo important aspect of vedic culture-

i. _yurvedic medicine

ii. Yoga
V Meaning of ayurvedic.
V àhe science of ayurvedic describe that the body
is composed of five essential sustain-
Earth
Water
Fire
_ir
Vyoma
V àhere are four main path of yoga as described
briefly below-
V Karmayoga-µàhe yoga of actionµ
V Jnanayoga-µàhe yoga of knowledgeµ
V _stangayoga-µàhe eightfold system of yogaµ
V Bhaktiyoga-µYoga of devotionµ
V Conciousness studies
V àhe vedic culture is among the oldest culture of
human civilization.

V àhe author would further like to suggest about

conducting a serious research work on time.
V I will conclude by quoting longfellow-µàrust
no future however pleasant; let the dead past
bury its dead. _ct_ act in the living
present·heart within , and God oµ erheadµ.
