language.
Recall and apply vocabulary for talking about my
family.
Identify and select appropriate possessive
adjectives.
Produce accurate numbers and dates in the
target language.
In Spanish all questions are preceded by an
upside down question mark -
This is so that when reading in Spanish we can
anticipate the question and adjust the tone of our
voice appropriately.
The upside down question mark is vital in
Spanish as without it the entire meaning of the
sentence can become uncertain:
Le gusta el baloncesto? = Does he like
basketball?
Le gusta el baloncesto = He likes basketball.
In English we have what are known as question words to help
us identify a question:
Who? What? Where? Why? When? How?
It is important to be able to recognise the Spanish equivalent
of these words in order to form our own questions. Make a
note of them in your books:
Quin? Who?
Qu? What?
Dnde? Where? Note that all of these
Por qu? Why? question words have
an accented letter in
Cundo? When?
them!!!
Cmo? How?
Cuntos? How much/many?
Cul? Which?
