Introduction to Holocaust
The word Holocaust comes
from the greek words holos
and kaustos. The Holocaust is
a Jewish sacrificial offering that
is burned completely on an
altar. The holocaust was the
systematic, bureaucratic, state-
sponsored persecution and
murder to six million Jews by
the Nazi regime and its
collaborators. Other groups
were also targeted such as
gypsies, homosexuals, and
Russians. (Holocaust Memorial
Museum)
Hitler
He was born in Austria in 1889,
and also served during WW1
with the german army. He
served nine months in prison for
treason. He later then became a
member of the Nationalist
Socialist German Workers Party
(NSDAP). While Hitler was
imprisoned he wrote Mein
Kampf, which would lead to
extermination of the Jewish race
in Germany. Hitler made himself
Germanys supreme ruler. (The

were extermination camps
where Jews were put to death Dachau (Germany)
using gas chambers. Camps
conditions were more than Belzec (Poland)
awful. They smelled really bad
and the people got treated
poorly and barely got any food.
(Jewish Virtual Library)
Around 300,000 Jews survived
all the camps. All the people

SURVIVORS that are still alive, not just the
