INTRODUCTION
Home Security Systems are an important feature of modern
residential and office setups. Home security systems must be
affordable, reliable and effective. Modern complex home security
systems include several security features like fire, intruders,
electronic door lock, heat, smoke, temperature, etc. Some security
systems may be a combination of all the security measures.
This project has 2 basic modules.
First module of this project detects if person is entering in room. LCD
display placed outside the room displays this status. And if person has
entered then buzzer is turned on.
Second module uses Fire Alarm sensor to detect the Fire. If there is fire,
then buzzer is turned on.
Home security system is the most prominent (famous) feature for
home automation.

BLOCK DIAGRAM DESCRIPTION
It mainly consists of following blocks
Microcontroller
This is the CPU (central processing unit) of our project.
We are going to use a microcontroller of 8051 family which is ATmega328.
TheATmega328is a single-chipmicrocontrollercreated byAtmelon
which Arduino UNO is based.
The ATmega328 is a high-performance Microchip 8-bit AVR RISC-based
microcontroller combines 32KB ISP flash memory with read-while-write
capabilities, 1KB EEPROM, 2KB SRAM, 23 general purpose I/O lines, 32
general purpose working registers, three flexible timer/counters with
compare modes, internal and external interrupts, serial programmable
USART, a byte-oriented 2-wire serial interface, SPI serial port, 6-channel
10-bit A/D converter (8-channels in TQFP and QFN/MLF packages),
programmable watchdog timer with internal oscillator, and five software
selectable power saving modes. The device operates between 1.8 - 5.5
volts

GSM Module (SIM 900A) -

SIM 900A is the GSM/GPRS module with built in RS232 interface. It has
dual band GSM/GPRS system that works on 900/1800MHz frequencies.
With the help of RS232, the modem can be connected to PC or
microcontroller via serial cable.
Voice calls, SMS and internet access are possible with this module.
There are on board connections for microphone and headphones with
which we can make or receive calls.

PIR Sensor -
Passive Infra-Red or PIR Sensor is a Pyroelectric device that detects
motion. Hence, it is also called as motion detection sensor. It detects
motion by sensing the changes in infrared levels emitted by nearby
objects.
PIR sensors allow you to sense motion, almost always used to detect
whether a human has moved in or out of the sensors range. They are
small, inexpensive, low-power, easy to use.
PIRs are basically made of a pyroelectric sensor which can detect levels
of infrared radiation

Fire Alarm

A fire alarm system has a number of devices working together to detect

and warn people through visual and audio appliances when smoke, fire,
carbo monoxide or other emergencies are present.
These alarms may be activated automatically from smoke detectors, and
heat detectors or may also be activated via manual fire alarm activation
devices such as manual call points or pull stations.
Alarms can be either motorized bells or wall mountable sounders or
horns.

Power Supply
A power supply is an electronic device that supplies electric energy to
an electrical load. The primary function of a power supply is to convert
one form of electrical energy to another and, as a result, power supplies
are sometimes referred to as electric power converters. Some power
supplies are discrete, stand-alone devices, whereas others are built into
larger devices along with their loads. Examples of the latter include
power supplies found in desktop computers and consumer electronics
devices.

CIRCUIT DIAGRAM
WORKING
In this project we have used 8051 microcontroller for controlling the whole
process of theproject. A PIR sensor is used for sensing human presence. And
when PIR sensor sense any movement in targeted area of room then it gives a
HIGH logic to microcontroller and then Microcontroller take place and make a call
via GSM module using AT commands. Controller calls to a predefined mobile
number and at the same time it also sends a message to the same number via
GSM Module.
Circuit connections are shown in the above circuit diagram. GSM modules Rx and
Tx pins are directly connectedto Tx and Rx pin of microcontroller And supply by
using a 12 Volt adaptor. A PIR Sensor modules Dout pin is directly connected at
pin 21 (P2^0) of Microcontroller with a 10K pullup resistor. An 11.0592 MHz
Crystal oscillator is used in this circuit for generating clock signal for
microcontroller. And a 5 volt voltage regulator is used for provide 5 volt for the
whole circuit.

ADVANTAGE

1. Can provide security to 8-devices

2. User-programmable plain text message control
3. Communication from any other mobile
4. Password protected
5. Can be controlled anywhere, anytime
6. This system is cost effective. Also, it is fast and efficient
7. This system is fully automated. So once this system is installed
inside home or industry, then it does not require any human
interaction to operate.
8. This system is Cost effective. Also it is Fast and efficient.
