CONCLUSION
INTRODUCTION
Boiler or steam generator is a device used to create
steam by
applying heat energy to water. The boil efficiency is
very important
because a less effective boiler will lead to loss, much
work will be
applied but little work done.
Modern society requires water-supply, heat-supply,
centralized system
of illumination and many things. There is no way to
conduct our life
without these products of civilization. But
CONCEPT OF HEAT
TRANSFER
The transfer of heat is normally from a high
temperature object to a lower temperature object.
TYPES OF HEAT
TRANSFER
The three types of heat transfer are:
Conduction
Convection
Radiation
CONDUCTION

THE PROCESS
CALLED BOILING
Boiling is the rapid vaporization that occurs when a
liquid is heated to
its boiling point and change of state occurs
THE STEAM BOILER
A boiler is an enclosed vessel that provides a means for
combustion
heat to be transferred into water until it becomes
heated water or
Steam.
The boiler is also known as the steam generator.
It is used wherever a source of steam is
required.
The apparatus to be used is the UNILAG steam
boiler and it is a fire tube boiler.
THE STEAM BOILER
FIRE TUBE BOILER

The fire tube boiler is a type of

boiler in which hot gases from fire

pass through one or more tubes

running through a sealed

container of feed-water (boiler

vessel). The heat of the gases is

transferred through the walls of

the tubes by thermal conduction,

heating the water and ultimately

creating steam.

WORKING PRINCIPLE
OF THE STEAM
BOILER
The boiler is a closed vessel in which water is
Stored . Fuel is burnt in a furnace and hot gases
are produced.
These hot gases come in contact with water
vessel where the heat of these gases transfer
to the water and consequently steam is
produced in the boiler.

CONCLUSION
Turbulators are required in the boiler process
to calm the turbulence created by the
combustion gases in the fire tube boiler.
