Objective and Scope of the work

The main objective of this project work is to fabricate the Al 7075 base
hybrid metal matrix composite reinforced with 10 weight percentage of
Aluminium Oxide (Al2O3)(125 micrometer) and varying weight
percentage of Kyanite in varying particle size of 120 mesh (125 micro
meter) (Aluminium Silicate) (i.e. 2%, 4% & 6%). As s low cost ceramic
material to enhance the Mechanical and Trio biological properties of
composites.

The Aluminum metal hybrid metal matrix composite are prepared

by stir casting process and we test for mechanical properties
(Tensile, Impact test) and Tribiological properties(hardness test) as
per ASTM Standard .

Stir Casting Machine
Stir casting machine is mainly
used for the manufacturing of
MMC, s. The constituent
materials are to be melted in
the furnace of the casting
machine and will solidify to
provide the required
composites. It is the one of the
simplest and cost effective
method adopted for the
production of Metal Matrix
Composites. The important

Expected Outcome and Conclusion
The research work is to increase the
mechanical strength and Trio biological
properties of Metal matrix composites for
aerospace applications. Kyanite is ceramic
material gives strength and recommended for
high temperature
Aluminum applications
Hybrid in Aerospace.
Composites can be
developed with high strength and low weight
with improved mechanical properties with low
cost reinforcement which are naturally
available ceramic material like kyanite.

This research will tend to support a number of defence and aerospace

applications.
