1973 Constitution of the


Republic of the Philippines
SECTION 1. No person shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property
without due process of law, nor shall any person be denied the equal
protection of the laws.
HUMAN RIGHTS

Human rights in the Philippines pertains to the concept, practice, and


issues of human rights within the Philippine archipelago. The concept
of "human rights," in the context of the Philippines, pertains mainly
(but is not limited) to the civil and political rights of a person living in
the Philippines by reason of the 1987 Philippines Constitution.
WOMEN RIGHTS
The Philippines has one of the smallest rates of gender disparity in the world.
the Philippines ranked 7th out of 145 countries for gender equality.
Filipino women are now play a plethora of different roles in society. These roles range
between the traditional position of mother, looking after children and household, to positions
in the political arena.
RELIGIOUS RIGHT
The 1987 Constitution of the
Philippines declares: The
separation of Church and State
shall be inviolable.

forever be allowed. No religious test
shall be required for the exercise of
civil or political rights.
OFFICIAL LANGUAGE
The national language of the Philippines
is Filipino.
The Philippines has 8 major dialects:
Bikol, Cebuano, Hiligaynon (Ilonggo),
Ilocano, Kapampangan, Pangasinan,
Tagalog, and Waray. The language being
taught all over the Philippines is Tagalog
and English.
INDIGENOUS PEOPLE
The Philippines consist of a large number of upland
ethnic groups living in the country.
