Power Systems- Applicable Codes and Standards

The Client has requested that codes and standards for KKMC be those which would
be applicable if this project were to be constructed in the United States.

Compliance with local authorities codes and standards is also of great importance
and Saudi Building Code (401) is prioritised accordingly.

RFA Process Confirmed response
Confirmed response to RFA Use of BS1363 Socket Outlets

This is consistent with the Saudi Council of Ministers approval of the change of
voltage distribution of electricity to 230/400 volts and the associated standardisation
of sockets. (Issued on Monday 21 Ramadan 1431 H / corresponding to August 31,
2010.

Impending decisions required

1. Provision of IPS panels.

2. Stand alone capacity for the hospital (eg 48 or 72 hours).
3. Code blue procedures confirmation.
4. Lift management systems priorities.
5. Confirmation of bed-head service provision.
6. Disaster mode power priorities
7. Laboratory service UPS requirements
8. Imaging UPS requirements.
