Our Idea
After Receiving feedback we plan to
continue our original idea of using iconic
parts of London and time lapse the London
Eye at night.
Thirdly have planned to incorporate a globe into the BBC One logo as we
wanted to represent the fact of the channel being the first to air globally
and continues to air globally, however for improvements we were asked to
ensure that BBC One airs globally and if this is not the case we shoul
consider changing our logo slightly. We responsed that if we need to
change our logo design other possiblities would be changing the globe to
a image of the United Kingdom refering once agin to the channel heritage.
Target Audience
Receiving feedback we were asked to look into whether or
not BBC One has a very large target audience that is widely
spread across the global. This covers people from all different
backgrounds and walks of life therefore increasing the huge diverse
audience that the BBC airs to. IF this was not the case then we
would have to reconsider our logo design as it current incorporate a
globe.
Researching into the audience of the BBC we have been able to find
that the majority of the channels viewers are aged between 25 and
65. We believe this is the case because BBC One mainly airs very
formal and informative programs such as the News.
When making our ident we must ensure that we do not cut off parts
of this widely diverse audience and maintain parts of the channels
current corporate identity into our rebranding. This is due to the
success that BBC One has obtained in terms of viewers.
Key Content
As an overall of our design and looking at our target audience there are several
features that we have noticed to be key in order to obtain success.
The first being the maintaining of certain themes and features that the current BBC
One entails in their Idents. The circle theme is the first theme that was made
apparent when looking at previous BBC One idents is one of the features that we
plan to continue use of as we believe it to portray a good message, showing unity
and togetherness, which we would like to continue. This has also almost iconic with
BBC One making it a good feature to include to keep the large viewer base. Another
theme we plan to continue is the use of Red which has also become very iconic with
the BBC and this will once again help us connect with our target audience.
We have also planned to use very iconic British landmarks as we would like to show
some background of the BBC and where it has come from in comparison to today.
