Founder/Origins

in the Middle East.
Basic Beliefs
Judaism was actually the first tradition to teach monotheism, which is the belief
in only one God. As Judaism evolved, the idea of God evolved.

They celebrate Hanukka which is a commemoration to a days worth of oil lasted


for 8 days.

By celebrating this they light a menorah with seven candles that they light each
day.

In 950 B.C.E.- King Solomon builds the first temple in Jerusalem.

In 722 B.C.E.- Assyrians destroy Northern Israelite kingdom, disperse ten tribes.

In 586 B.C.E.- Babylonians overthrow Southern kingdom, destroy first temple, take
Judeans to Babylonia.

In 428 B.C.E- Second temple dedicated by Ezra and Nehemia.

How did it Spread?

Judaism spread when the Babylonians spread the


Jewish people around Israel during the Babylonian
exile. After the death of Buddha, missionaries carried
out his teachings throughout Asia.
Conflicts
Arab Nations frequently present the Arab-Israeli conflict as a
religious conflict of the Moslems against the so called "infidel
Jews". Thus, the Arab countries at war with Israel use Islamic
religion as an ideology to mobilize the Arab as well as non-
Arab Muslim nations against Israel.
