The sum of the ages of Jessica, her mother, and her grandmother is 100 years.
The grandma is twice as
old as the mother. Jessica's mother is 28 years older than Jessica. How old is
grandma?
SOLUTION:
Suppose Jassices Age=J
Her Mothers Age=M
Grand Mothers Age=G
By Given Conditions
J+M+G=100
G=2M.....M=G/2
M=J+28.J=(G/2)-28
G=?
(G/2-28)+G/2+G=100
2G=128
G=64
QUESTION.2:
A, B and C can do a piece of work in 20, 30 and 60 days respectively. In
how many days can A do the work if he is assisted by B and C on every
third day
?
SOLUTION:
Rate of Work By A= 1/20
Rate of work by B=1/30
Rate of work by C=1/60
Suppose Total work=X
Work Done by A in 2 days=X/20+X/20=X/10
3rd Day Combine work by A,B & C=x/20+X/30+X/60=6X/60=X/10
Total work in 3 Days=x/10+X/10=X/5
Remaining work=X-X/5=4X/5
AS X/5 in 3 Days so 4x/5=4*3= 12 Days
Total Days = 3+12=15

A man is 24 years older than his son. In two years, his age will
be twice the age of his son,The present age of his son is ?????
SOLUTION:
Suppose Mans Age= M
Sons Age= S
By Given Conditions
M=S+24I
M+2=2(S+2).II
S=?
Putting Value from Equ I into II
(S+24)+2=2S+4
S+26=2S+4
Hence S=22
QUESTION.5:
What is the volume of a cube whose surface
area is 294?
A.125 b.216 c.294 d.343
SOLUTION:
Surface Area of Cube= 6*a^2=294
a^2=49
So a=7
Volume of Cube= a^3
a^3=7^3=343

Ajmal completes a work in 3 hours.akmal
does the same job in 5 hours.in how many
minutes they together complete the work?
SOLUTION:
Ajmals Work Rate=1/3
Akmals work Rate=1/5
Combined Work Rate=1/3+1/5=8/15
Both Can complete work in 15/8=1.875Hour
1.875*60=112.5 minute

A herd consist of cows and hens.if the number of legs are
14 more than twice the heads then how many cows are
there ? Explain
SOLUTION:
No of Cows= X
No of Hens= Y
Legs= 4X+2Y
Heads= X+Y
By Given Condition
4X+2Y=2(X+Y)+14
4X-2X=14
No of Cows =X=7

Aslam is now 3 times as old as javed, but 5 year ago,
he was 5 times as javed was. How old is aslam now?

A=3J
A-5=5(J-5)
A-5=5J-25
A-5=5A/3-25
20=2A/3
2A=60

Robert can do a work in 10 days and Stuart in 5 days.
In how many days will they together be able to finish
that work.
SOLUTION:
Robert Can do work in 10 days
Roberts Work Rate=1/10
Stuart Can do work in 5 days
Stuarts Work Rate=1/5
Combine Work Rate=1/5+1/10
Combine Work Rate=3/10
Hence both Can finish Work=10/3=3.3 Days
QUESTION.10:
A rectangle is 14 cm long and 10 cm wide. If the length is reduced by
x cm and its width is increased also by x cm so as to make it a square
then its area changes by??
SOLUTION:
L=14 cm
W=10 cm
Area of Rectangle=L*W=14*10=140
Length Decreasing by X= 14 X
Width Increasing by X= 10 + X
As It Becomes a Square (All sides Equal)
14 X= 10 + X
So X=2
Area of New Square= (14 X )(10+X)=12*12=144
Difference in Area= 144-140=4 Cm ^ 2 Increase

X=30*45/25

Suppose Youngest Child=X
Next will be X+3,X+6,X+9,X+12
X+X+3+X+6+X+9+X+12=50
5X+30=50
5X=20
X=4

Probability of each no will be 1/6
So probability of not coming a Number Greater
than2=P(1)+P(2)
P(1)+P(2)=1/6+1/6
=1/3=.3

another candidate who gets 42% marks gets 12% more
than the passing marks. Find the maximum marks.?
SOLUTION:
20%=Passing Marks-10
20%+10=Passing Marks.i
42%=Passing Marks+12%
30%=Passing Marksii
Comparing Both Equations
20%+10=30%
So 10%=10
Total 100%=100

If one-third of one-fourth of a number is 15, then three-
tenth of that number is:

Let the number b X then 1/4 of X is=X/4
1/3 of X/4 = 1/3* X/4 = X/12
now X/12 =15

started the work alone and then after 4 days Y joined him till the
completion of the work. How long did the work last?

Work Completes by A in 4 Days=4/20=1/5
Remaining work=1-1/5=4/5
Now Each day work Rate by working A & B together= 1/20+1/12=2/15
Days for Remaining work=work/Rate
Days=(4/5)/(2/15)
Days=6
Total Days =4+6=10 Ans

A man is 24 years older than his son. In two

SOLUTION:
Suppose Mans Age= M
Sons Age= S
By Given Conditions
M=S+24I
M+2=2(S+2).II
S=?
Putting Value from Equ I into II
(S+24)+2=2S+4
S+26=2S+4
Hence S=22

A clock's minute hand is 10cm long. What area it
will cover from 9:00am to 9:35am?
Solution:
r=10 cm
Area= pi* r^2* angle
Area= 3.14*10*10*(7/12)
Area=183.3 cm^2

Note: for 35 minute, minute hand position will be


at 7 angle with position as 7/12 or angle= 210/360

In a class, there are 40 boys and 60 girls. It
includes 30 junior and 70 senior students. What is
the minimum number of senior boys are there?
Solution:
Boys=40 Girls=60
Juniors=30 Seniors=70
Minimum Senior boys=?
For Minimum senior Boys, Maximum Girls will be
Senior and Remaining will be Senior boys
Minimum Senior Boys=70-60=10 ans
QUESTION.20:
Marble size is 20cm*30cm. How many
marbles are required to cover a square with
side 3m?
3m=300cm
Area=300*300
No of Marbles=Area/Marble
Size=300*300/20*30=150

Find the sum of three consecutive even integers such that the
sum of the smallest integer and twice the second is 12 more
then the third?

Suppose 1st Even No is X
Next Number will be X+2, X+4
Given As
X+2(X+2)=X+4+12
2X=12

Suppose Total num off workers= X
Sum of Salary of all workers= Y
By Given Condition
Y/X=60 so Y=60X
Sum of salary of 12 officers=Z
Z/12=400 so Z=4800
Given Condition for avg salary /head of rest
Y-4800/X-12=56
60X-4800/X-12=56
60X-4800=56X-672 so 4X=4128
X=1032

A businessman started an business with a capital of 80,000.
His first year he had a profit of 10% and in second year he had
a profit of 20%. what was the total amount after second year?

X=80,000
10% of 80,000=8000
After 1 Year= 80,000+8000=88,000
20% of 88,000=17600

amount is equal to 2/5 of B's amount, how much
amount does B have?
