 DEFINISI BIDAN MENURUT ICM,

A midwife is a person who having

been regularly admitted to a
midwifery educational program, duly
recognized in the country in which it
is loated, has successfully completed
the prescribed course of studies in
midwifery and has acquired the
requisite qualifications to be
registered and/or legally licensed to
practice midwifery.
The midwife is recognized as a responsible and
accountable professional who works in
partnership with women to give the necessary
support, care and advice during pregnancy,
labour, and the postpartum period, to conduct
births on the midwifes own responsibility and
to provide care for the newborn and the infant.
This care includes preventative measures, the
promotions of normal birth, the detection of
complications in mother and chils, the
accessing of medical care or other appropriate
assistance and the carrying out of emergency
measures.
The midwife has an important task in health
counseling and education, not only for the
woman, but also within the family and the
community. This work should involve
antenatal education and preparation for
parent hood and may extend to womens
health, sexual or reproductive health, and
chilcare.

A midwife may practice in any setting

including the home, community, hospitals,
clinics or health units

adalah seorang yang telah menyelesaikan
program pendidikan bidan yang di akuai oleh
negara serta memperoleh kwalifikasi dan diberi izin
untuk menjalankan praktek kebidanan di negeri itu.
Dia harus mampu memberi supervisi , asuhan dan
memberikan nasehat yang dibutuh kan kepada
wanita selama masa hamil, persalinan dan masa
pasca persalinan, memimpin persalinan atas
tanggung jawab sendiri serta asuhan pada bayi bu
lahirardan anak, asuhan ini termasuk tindakan
preventif, pendeteksian kndisi abnormal pada ibu
dan bayi, dan mengupayakan bantuan medis serta
melakukan tindakan pertolongan gawat darurat
pada saat tidak hadir nya tenaga medik lain nya.Dia
mempunyai tugas penting dalam konsultasi dan
Pendidikan kesehatan tidak hanya
untuk wanita tersebut tetapi juga
untuk keluarga dan komunitas nya.
Pekerjaan itu termasuk pendidikan
antenatal, persiapan untuk
menjadi orang tua, dan meluas ke
daerah tertentu dari gynekologi,
keluarga berencana dan asuhan
Dia bisa berpraktek di rumah sakit ,
anak.
klinik, unit kesehatan rumah perawatan
dan tempat- tempat pelayanan lain nya
 adalah seorang wanita yang telah

pendidikan bidan yang telah di akui
pemerintah dan lulus ujian dengan
persyaratan yang berlaku, jika
melakukan praktek , yang bersangkutan
