was held in stockholm, Sweden from 5-16 june in1972.

PRINCIPLES OF STOCKHOLM
CONFERENCE
Human must be asserted , apartheid and colonialism.
Natural resources must be safeguarded.
The Earths capacity to produce renewable resources
must be maintained.
Wildlife must be safeguarded.
Damaging oceanic pollution must be prevented.
Development is needed to improve the environment.
Developing countries therefore need assistance.
SIGNIFICANCE OF STOCKHOLM
DECLARATION
Stockholm declaration has highly influence in the development of
international environmental laws and policies.
The declaration containing 26 principles is generally regarded as the
foundation of modern international environmental laws.
The creation of UNEP was the landmark achievement of the Stockholm
declaration.
Stockholm declaration provided specific for future governmental and inter-
governmental issues internationally.
It provided inspiration, created public awareness of and concern over
environmental issues internationally.
