Our original idea
Sheffield has a large beer scene and heritage with around 57 breweries in the Sheffield city
region and the number keeps growing. We plan to gain access to some of these and do
features on them about how the beer is made and its history in Sheffield and how Sheffield
has gain the title as "the brewing capital of the UK. Whilst interviewing the people we think it
would be good to ask them things such as do you remember when you tried your first beer.
This will fit with the brief of "Sheffield stories and we will get some insight into the people of
Sheffield and their lives.
Research
-Brown, P. (2016). A Snapshot of the Beer Industry in the Sheffield City Region. Available:

Our First Shoot
The
Sentinel
On the 15th of February we met with head brewer, Alex.

He allowed us access to the brewery where we were able to get in close to the equipment and record high quality film and sound.
He also allowed us to interview him, asking about setting up the Sentinel and his opinion of the beer scene in Sheffield.

This was our longest shoot and we got a variety of different shots of each aspect of the brewing process.
Our Second Shoot
Brew
Mart
On Wednesday the 22nd of February we went to Brew Mart to film an interview with the owner Sam Kay.

He opened the shop for us and gave us an interview about home brewing and the popularity of home brewing in the years he has
worked in the shop.
Our Third Shoot
Kelham Island
Brewery
On Friday the 24th of February we visited Kelham Island

We met and spoke with Adrian Harris, one of the brewers, who talked us through his brewing process.

We also interviewed Nigel Turnbull, head brewer, who told us about the history of Kelham Island.
Our Fourth Shoot
The Brothers
Arms
On Friday the 24th of February we spent the afternoon in the Brothers Arms pub with one of the owners, Richard Larbey.

We interviewed him and filmed inside the pub, taking some filler shots of pouring pints, drinking etc .
Editing
Editing was a collaborative effort with Amelia and Molly finding clips and their
matching sound clips. They then cut down the interviews from 20 minutes to 4
and finding the best clips we had and wanted to use.

Then Jim and Harry took over for the fine tuning with Jim colour correcting and
inserting all the filler shot and set ups to the brewery. Harry did the sound and
recorded his voice overs that Molly had written.
