Introduction
Maternal Mortality
Death of a woman while pregnant

Everyday approx. 800 women die due to child birth

Complication during pregnancy and childbirth

Sever bleeding, infections, high blood pressure, unsafe abortion.

Almost 50% maternal mortality dropped by the time 1990 & 2013

99% maternal death occurs in developing countries.

Boost in its image, less numbers of expecting mothers are dying

Bangladesh managed to down trend the mothers dying during pregnancy

Reduced by 40%

Skilled people are dealing with pregnancy process

Proper treatment is provided in rural and urban areas

According to you, what are the reasons behind maternal mortality?

Hypothesis
Maternal mortality rate can be due to obstetric complications; mainly hemorrhage sepsis,
unsafe abortion, pre-eclampsia and eclampsia.

In rural areas lack of education, doctors, transportation system, religious belief

Major risk for girls who marry & give birth before maturity

NGOs are introducing programs trained community health workers

Referral/Transfer system to health facilities for complicated cases
