Clinical Trial Of Hibiscus Sabdariffa L.
Tea (Tisane)
15
Since that suggest daily consumption of hibiscus tea, in an
amount readily incorporated into the diet, lowers Blood
Preasure in pre- and mildly hypertensive adults and may
prove an effective component of the dietary changes
recommended for people with these conditions

Pharmacokinetic Profile
The urinary excretion of
cyanidin-3-sambubioside : 0.016%
delphinidin-3-sambubioside : 0.021%,
and total anthocyanins: 0.018%
of the administered doses, respectively.
Maximum excretion rates were determined at
1.5 to 2.0 hours after intake.

Drug Interaction
Chloroquine, Acetaminophen And Diclofenac
Hibiscus sabdariffa caused a reduction in
the elimination of acetaminophen and
diclofenac and also a reduction in the
bioavailability of chloroquine.
23
Drug Interaction
Hydrochlorothiazide
Plasma clearance and the elimination rate
constant of HCT (hydrochlorothiazide )
decreased with increasing dose of HSE
(hibiscus Sabdaariffa Extract) co-administered
with the HCT.
24
DOSAGE AND DOSAGE FORM
Herb therapy:
For hypertension therapy, Hibiscus
sabdariffa tea (consist of 65% of
Chinese hibiscus and 35% of Thai
hibiscus) is consumed 3 cup/day (720
mL/day).
