What is a

Computer?

Donald Botanas
A computer can be defined
as a programmable,
electronic device that
accepts data, performs
operations on that data,
presents the results, and
stores the data or results as
needed.

Motherboard

Amotherboardis one of
the most essential parts of a
computersystem. It holds
together many of the crucial
components of acomputer,
including the central
processing unit (CPU),
memory and connectors for
input and output devices.
CPU
(Central Processing Unit)

The central processing unit

(CPU) of acomputeris a
piece of hardware that
carries out the instructions
of acomputer program. It
performs the basic
arithmetical, logical, and
input/output operations of
acomputersystem.
RAMis considered volatile
memory, which means that SIMM
the stored information is (Single Inline Memory Module)
lost when there is no power.
So,RAMis used by the
central processing unit
(CPU) when acomputeris
running to store information
that needs to be used very
quickly, but it does not store
any information
permanently

device that uses magnetic
storage to store and
retrieve digital information
using one or more rigid
rapidly rotating
disks(platters) coated with
magnetic material.
Power Supply

Apower supply
unit(PSU) converts mains
AC to low-voltage regulated
DC powerfor the internal
components of acomputer.
Input - Entering the data
into the computer.
Processing - Performing
operations on the data. Four Primary
Output Presenting the Operations of
results.
Storage - saving data,
