About the Company

Nippon Koei India Pvt. Ltd. (NK India) is a wholly

owned subsidiary of Nippon Koei Co., Ltd. of Japan
(Nippon Koei). NK India, headquartered in New Delhi,
focuses on projects in India and other developing
countries. Formed in 2008, it is managed and staffed
with highly experienced professionals with significant
overseas consulting experience.

Alignments :Curve
Design

Horizontal Curves were

designed for Construction
Package 1(CTP-1) and
Construction Package 2(CTP-
2) which was having
alignment drawings from
Rewari to Varodara , knowing
the deflection angle and
radius of curvature for the
curve. A total of 446 curves
were in the package the
total length of curve, the
length of the transition curve
was calculated and same
was compared with the
drawings.
Alignment : Station Yards

Clear standing Room (CSR): It is distance from fouling mark on

one side to the fouling mark on the other side of the yard line.
Stock Rail Joint (SRJ): This is the joint between the stock rail and
the lead rail provided at the switch.
Buffer Stop(BS): A buffer stop is a device used to prevent
railway vehicles from going past the end of a physical section of
track.
Fouling Mark (FM): It is present where two railway tracks meet at
a point. Itmarksthe line beyond which a train taking one of the
diverging routes from the point, should completely pass (both
ends of the train should cross thatmark) so that there is no risk
of collision with a train taking the other diverging route.
Alignment : Station Yards
Alignments : Wheel
Lubricator

Wheel Lubricator is provided on the tracks to prevent the wear and tear
of the rail, due to the friction between the wheel flanges and the inner
sides of the rails.
The friction at the contact area between the wheel flanges of railway
vehicles and the rails determine wheel and rail wear. Vehicle and track
maintenance intervals are strongly determined by this wear process
and dramatically influence the life-cycle cost of the total vehicle and
the track
To be provided for alignment between JNPT to Vaitarna
Should have at least 25 horizontal curves with degree greater than 2
or radius of curvature less than 875m.
If more than two such stretch exist then, the stretch with maximum
number of curves will be provided with the wheel lubricator
A stretch of 41.73 km was finally arrived at from curve no 11-46R to
11-94L.
Bridge Bearing

A component of a bridge which typically provides a

resting surface between bridge piersand thebridge
deck.
The purpose of a bearing is to allow controlled
movement and thereby reducing the stresses
involved. Movement could bethermal expansionor
contraction or movement from other sources such
asseismic activity.
Bearing Design
1. Knowing the loads which are to be resisted suitable bearing
type should be selected, which depends on the experience and
expertise of the designer.
2. Then preliminary proportioning of the bearing components is
done, provisions of IRC Codes should be kept in consideration
while proportioning, material of the components of bearing
should conform to that given in IRC Code.
3. After proportioning from the provisions of IRC Code the bearing
should be checked that the stresses induced in the bearing
components are within limits, the bearing is capable enough to
bear the load coming without excessive deflection or
deformation. If the stresses are not within the limits the
dimensions should be revised until a suitable bearing size is
arrived at.
4. The detailed drawing of the bearing and its components should
be drawn with all dimensions marked which should conform to
the values considered in the calculations.
