Week level User DL Throughput & KPIs
2x2 OL-MIMO and 2x2 CL-MIMO are compared for a cluster 27B of 38 sites. OL-MIMO of one week
is recorded, followed by CL-MIMO
2x2 CL-MIMO gives slight higher average downlink user throughput than 2x2 OL-MIMO by about
2.06% when we compare week data, while other network KPIs remain stable
Average user DL rate: 14.06Mbps @ OL vs. 14.35Mbps @ CL
Average user UL rate: no degradation when enabling 2x2 CL in the downlink

Conclusion

CL MIMO Trial Implemented on 14th dec 2015.

Slight Improvement in DL Throughput observed.
All Other KPIs have no impact.

Recommendations:
After implementing CL MIMO Slight Improvement has been
observed (Only 2%).
Currently there is less uplink traffic but when uplink traffic
increased it may affect on UL throughput due to feedback
mechanism in CL MIMO.
Also CL MIMO is not valid for HO User , it is just for static/less
mobility user.
Trial has been successful but we can not roll out this trial due
to handover
