Nutrient
are chemical elements that all
plants and animals require for
growth. On the earth, there is a
constant and natural cycle how
these elements are incorporated
when an organism grows, and
degraded if an organism dies.
Nutrient Cycle
describes how nutrients move from
the physical environment into living
organisms, and subsequently are
recycled back to the physical
environment.
Classification of nutrients
1. Macronutrients- are those that
required by the organisms in large
quantities. example; carbon,
hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen,
2. Micronutrients- are needed by
organisms in smaller quantities.
Example: copper,zinc,iron
