What does an Astronaut do?

An astronaut varies between scientific
applications and engineering purposes,
coming from many different spectrums of
our work-force. Many hold Bachelors and
Masters in Engineering, Mathematics, and
Biological/Physical Sciences.
Astronauts are responsible for taking
care of the crews wellbeing on missions,
maintaining the integrity of the spacecraft,
and many other roles.

Why an Astronaut?
I

chose to become an Astronaut Engineer because I love applying

Mechanical and Astronautical sciences to space exploration.

love space applications/exploration more than any career I can

think of!

Although

it may not be that appealing to some, it really works out

for you depending if youre in it if you enjoy it or not.

The

Overview Effect.

Positions
I

plan to pursue the position of Mission

Specialist or the position of Manned
Spaceflight Engineer [USAF] because both
hold mission-specific varied jobs.

Mission

Specialist An Astronaut assigned to a

crew with mission-specific roles

Manned

Spaceflight Engineer A USAF

Astronaut assigned to a crew to accompany
military-geared operations and military
payloads

Typefocus

My

Typefocus results match my career choice because it applies to people

who have solid goals in mind and are able to work in organized structures like
NASA Astronaut crews.

think that being analytical and realistic about my objectives matches what I
want to do in NASA.

Three concepts learned

Time

- I learned how to manage my time with when I do my

assignments

Stress

Management I learned how to spread my stress out into

manageable conditions effectively

Interview

Strats I was shown that there are certain questions and

actions both my interviewer and I can and cannot pull off

Things I learned about myself [benefits too]

I

can push myself harder than I thought I originally could to work

harder

need to further manage my time and try to start work earlier,

because I know I procrastinate

have control over my procrastination
