Cultural immersion
Cultural immersion means when peopl comes in a new place,
understanding intrecting into the community, interacting with local
people, and understanding the way others live..
Cultural immersion is introdused to cultural awerness of education to
medical student.
It is based of full engagment with another culture. Practice and
language is important way of learning onself .

The cultural immersion test was held with 92 first-year medical
students in 2012
after that it was repeated aslo repeted in 2013 with 95 students
and 94 in 2014.
A comprehensive evaluation process was undertaken that includes
a paper-based evaluation form using a five point Likert scale, as
well as a confidential talking circle evaluation. The response rate
was 95.4% (n=271, pooled cohort). Data were entered separately
into SPSS and annual reports were written to the Faculty

Students strongly admited that workshop was well exhibited..
the facilitators contributed very positively to their experience
that they were very satisfied overall with the activity .
They agreed that the eight overall objectives had been well met .

Conclusion

The use of immersion in cultural awareness program for medical students


provides an very valuable platform..
Immersion also provided to student opportunity to learn their own
contruscting culture and around other culture
its give detailed information about the history and its effect on the current
health status of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians..
Key to success is strong leadership, commitment and support from Faculty
level, a structured educational program and educating all staff and students
about its importance throughout the journey.
