Key Demo Goals and Tips

SmartConnect may seem complicated to some customers at
first, especially if they are not familiar with DNS records

Going over how SmartConnect works before the demo starts and confirm a
basic understanding from the customer really helps
Seeing it set up in the demo should help them see its not as complicated
as it sounds at first.

One goal of the demo is to show and sell the value of

SmartConnect Advanced
Even if the use case isnt there today, make sure they
understand the functionality it brings

Tie SmartConnect to the rest of the SW Suite

Esp. SmartPools and Access Zones. It all fits

The Demo Guide included with the lab is a great resource!

Study it! It is a great teaching tool in itself.

The video demo follows it closely.

Lab/vLab Tips
Lab Prep:
I prefer to join the cluster to the domain before the demo

starts. It makes connections smoother.

Add the 4th virtual node to the cluster before the demoing
SmartConnect.
You can easily reset the SmartConnect settings by simply
deleting the service IP (blank it out), and deleting the basic
zone name (cluster.vlab.local). For the advanced demo,
simply delete the nfs-pool (great for practice)

Names and IPs to remember:

SC Service IP: 192.168.1.100

Basic Zone Name: cluster.vlab.local
Advanced Zone Name: nfs.vlab.local
NFS Pool range (192.168.1.201 192.168.1.221)

If you prefer to see the progress of the file copy, write a tarball
instead of doing a cp
