Audience

What is components

Components are one of the different parts of

an equipment
Piece of an equipment
Feature of something
e.g. car components, school components, elearning components etc
Synonyms for components are: essential, key,
major, principal, vital

E-learning components

These are the essential for

all successful online based
courses.
Components of e-learning
aids in designing and
developing online courses
that meets with computerbased training objectives.
This components are interrelated to each other.

Who is an Audience

In this particular context ;

Audience are group of learners who are

been instructed using the e-learning
approach.
Audience are the targeted group for a
particular programme or course.

E-learning audience

Audience plays a larger role than other component in the

design and development of an online course.
The audience has to be in mind from the concept stage to
implementation.
In the ADDIE process, the first step is to conduct audience
analysis.
The ADDIE model is the generic process traditionally used
by instructional designers and training developers

Implementation, and Evaluation Group 3 11/20/16

Consideration in making the class

interactive

How many are students are enrolled

What technologies are available to them to plan effectively for
interactive learning
The nature of the students either urban or rural area/preferences(how
best they can learn; some hands on, video, audio)
Grade range(simple discussion can be boring)
Age range
Educational, cultural, social, and economic backgrounds and learners
environment( Knowing there type of work helps because some might
be busy all day and free in the evening, restricted time to access the
internet, noise environment).
Educational expectations of learners

The attitude and interests of the learners

Analysis that needs to be done for quality

learning experience

General abilities of the class

Potential for learner's interactivity
Understanding learner characteristics
Helping learners understand the context
of the learning experience

General abilities of the class

Analyzing the cognitive of the class in

order to know if the need a prerequisite
knowledge or skills for the specific
learning in order to meet the objective.

Prior knowledge is important.

Students might be familiar with the content

which might make learning boring and
uninteresting.
Knowing the learners can help instructor to
develop supporting materials to individualize
instruction.
Varying the presentation of material to match
different learning styles (e.g., animation, text,
visual messages) helps in reaching
all learners.

Analyzing potential for Learner

Interactivity

More suitable for students who are less social

Less social student becomes more expressive
because of the perception of privacy
The benefit of interactivity is that learners can
benefit from a wider range of cognitive,
linguistic, cultural and affective style they would
not encounter in a self-contained classroom.

Understanding the Learner

Characteristics

To be effective, understanding the learners in a

targeted audience is necessary.
In an online environment, it is often difficult for
instructor to get information about students.
but it is essential that the instructor to plan a
way of inviting them to share information
about themselves while maintaining their right
to privacy.
