INTRODUCTION
Human brain, the most valuable creation
of God. The man is called intelligent
because of the Brain, but we lose the
knowledge of a brain when the body is
destroyed after the death .
Knowledge is power and who wouldnt
love a bit of it so wouldnt it be better if
we could just preserve a bit of it and
study its complexities.
But Is it really possible to clone a human
brain?
Yes it is, TheBlue Brain Projectis an
attempt to reverse engineer the human
brain and recreate it at the cellular level

What is a BLUE
BRAIN ?
The IBM is developing a virtual human
brain which is known as the Blue Brain.
Virtual Brain is an artificial brain. It
interfaces the data stored in the natural
brain i.e. a machine that can respond
and act as if a natural brain would do.
The Virtual Brain is needed so that
intelligence , knowledge , skill of a
person can be made eternal and to
upload the contents of natural brain into
it.
This is possible with the help of the
nanobots which are capable enough to

The uploading is possible by the use of
small robots known as the NANOBOTS.
These robots are small enough to travel
throughout our circulatory system.
Traveling into the spine and brain, they
will be able to monitor the activity and
structure of our central nervous system.
They will be able to provide an interface
with computer that is as close as our
mind can be, while we still reside in our
biological form .

Nanobots could also carefully scan the
structure of our brain, providing a
complete readout of the connection.
This information, when entered into a
computer, could then continue to
function as us, thus the data stored in
the entire brain will be uploaded into the
computer.
Data is collected about all the many

to build biologically realistic models of

TheBlue Brain Projectis an attempt to
reverse engineer the human brain and
recreate it at the cellular level inside a
computer simulation.
The project was founded in May 2005
byHenry Markram at
theEPFLinLausanne, Switzerland.
Goals of the project are to gain a
complete understanding of the brain and
to enable better and faster development
of brain disease treatments.
The research involves studying slices of
living brain tissue using microscopes
andpatch clampelectrodes.

The project will search for insights into
how human beings think and remember.
Scientists think that blue brain could also
help to cure the Parkinson's disease.
The brain circuitry is in a complex state
of flux, the brain rewiring itself every

cells that enable us to adapt quickly to
an immense array of stimuli.
Blue brain is a technology that uses
Blue Gene a supercomputer capable of
processing 228 TETRAFLOPS.
The main aim of blue brain is to build an
software replica or template which could
reveal many existing aspects of the brain
circuits, memory capacity and how
memories are lost.
The modeling is also able to work out
best way to compensate and repair error
circuits .

RTNeuron is the primary application used
by the BBP for visualization of neural
simulations.
The software was developed internally by
the BBP team.It is written inC+
+andOpenGL.

specifically for neural simulations, i.e. it
is not generalizable to other types of
simulation. RTNeuron takes the output
from Hodgkin-Huxley simulations in
NEURON and renders them in 3D.
