Hiking

Cardiovascular Endurance is much needed when hiking the


Appalachian Trail. I will need to increase my cardio by training. I train
by using 40 minutes to an hour of fast walking. I also include sprinting
up steep hills for 10 minutes.
If Im able to take in more oxygen to my body then I will be able to hike
longer and meet my goal of hiking the Appalachian Trail.

I need good muscular endurance for hiking the Appalachian Trail. Muscular
Strength will allow me to sustain climbing over many obstacles in my way, for
instance down trees, boulders and uneven surfaces.
I train with stations. Stations that I use to increase my endurance are scissor
jacks, squats, bicycle crunches and leg lifts

Muscular Strength is needed to keep everyday actions easier, relieves


stress on my body during hiking. I try and maintain good strength to
prevent injury on the trail. My workout before a big hike consists of a lot
of core strength activities. I use weights and plan to add wall sits,
crunches with weights, leg raises, planks and yoga.

1.I like to find new places with caves and waterfalls.
2. I like walking and talking with friends and having a
picnic at the end of a hike.

4. I like the feeling of a good workout. (sore muscles,

1. I am able to set a goal: hike the Appalachian trail.


Every state hiked is a goal completed. Success
2. Hiking releases my energy and helps reduce my
stress.
3. Hiking with friends helps with problem solving
and decision making. We talk about everything in
return, reduces my stress. Very calming and quiet
on the trails.
