Multimedia

Hypertext refers to links among textual items , often

indicated on a computer or website.
It is often used to link text to materials
traditionally contained in footnotes and
annotations.
Hypertext has been associated most closely with a
constructivist. It use some features to encourage
learners to evaluate the structure and the
sequence of their own learning.
Behaviorism model might use hypertext special
features only to link text explanation.

Hypermedia refers to similar links to those used in

hypertext.
It involves links various media such as sound,
images, animation and video.
In hipermedia, we can use to make projects as it is
mentioned in the ALLP.
For example: Through, links we can give many
videos that helps to improve the pronunciation.

Multimedia is a term that essentially sub

hypermedia.
It tends to feature several media types including
texts, sound, images, video and animation.
Multimedia programs on the market most of which
tend to dedicate a set path of instruction.
Multimedia links are selected and baesd on the
perception of program designer and may not mirror
the needs of the learners.

Antecedent of multimedia is useful to examine the

earlier ideas that led to its formation.
This historical perspective might not seem
practical to modern CALL.
The idea that went into creating modern computer
applications might suggest new directions for
research and development.
British and American efforts in constructing the first
modern computers

Science fiction and CALL has long been a rich

ground for speculation about the use of
computers.
The basic idea is that when interactions take
place online such as within a simulated
environment..
The applications to CALL have not been widely
exploited, because of the cognitive overhead of
teaching second language students use a service
like second life.

The printed book and CALL

Modern multimedia the printed book changed the
nature of information through the ways in which
ideas could be shared, recorded and explored.
Books also increased opportunities for
autonomous self- directed learning.
School is to encourage learner autonomy to
enable learning beyond the classroom.

Applications of multimedia to Language

Learning
The advances to general learning are much the
same for language learning
Students favoring multimedia as a way of improving
reading skills among average and less skills
readers.
Multimedia interact in a complex way giving
learners the feeling of experiencing information
instead of simply acquiring it and improve.
For example: Applications multimedia give teachers
an excellent possibility to demonstrate and visualize
the subject more clearly and comprehensibly, as well
as also enabling them to prepare study material for
students which optimizes their study habits.
