What is BSC?
The Balanced Score Card (BSC) is astrategic
planning and management systemthat is used
extensively in business and industry, government,
and nonprofit organizations worldwide to align
business activities to the vision and strategy of
the organization, improve internal and external
communications,

monitor

performance against strategic goals.

History and Concept


It was originated in 1992 and
published by Dr. Robert
Kaplan and Dr. David Norton
in the articles of Harvard
Business Research, followed
by a book in 1996.
It
is
a
performance
measurementframework that
added strategic non-financial
performance measures to
traditional financial metrics to
give
managers
and
executives a more 'balanced'
