Short term vs long term happiness

Short term happiness can be caused
by different sources:
Good health
Decent salary/income
Good romantic relationships
The impact of these sources of
happiness reduce after 3 months
Long term happiness can be caused
by smaller things:
Ability to look at the brighter side
of things
Having an appropriate level of
challenges
Having a rich social network

Real vs synthetic happiness

Natural happiness is the feeling we
experience when we get what we
want
This happiness is self generated
Synthetic happiness is what we
produce when we do not get what
we want

circumstances that they face for
the first time
Some people think that synthetic
happiness is delusional
Synthetic happiness can appear
perfectly natural to the person
facing it

Reaction vs Response

For example: When you REACT, you

are giving away your power. When
you RESPOND, you are staying in
control of yourself
Respond, Don't React
When you react to something someone says
or does, you may have a problem with
boundaries. If someone is able to cause
havoc by doing or saying something, she is in
control of you at that point and your
boundaries are lost.
When your respond you remain in control
with options and choices. If you feel yourself
reacting, step away and regain control of
yourself so family members cant force you to
do or say something you do not want to do or
say; and something that shows your
separateness. .
When you have kept your boundaries,
